Summary: Basically players can win real prizes ranging from MS points to home threater systems. Gamers worldwide will connect and anyone can win a prize. It will have a LIVE host on Fridays and Saturdays and will run for 13 weeks (a season). Personally I cant wait. This will seriously attract more gamers to 360.
The audience (the Crowd) plays a part, both in providing Who Wants to be a Millionaire-****lifelines and in just playing along with the contestants. But 1 vs. 100 isn't just about getting questions right -- it's about other people getting the answer wrong. That's where the Mob comes in. The XB360 version randomly selects 100 players from the Crowd to form the Mob, and it's the One's goal to answer more questions correctly than them. The One is playing for Microsoft Marketplace points, and every time 10 people get a question wrong, the MS point value increases -- up to a maximum of 10,000.
All those details apply specifically to the live, twice-weekly version of the game. But to give more people a chance to compete, an Extended Play version will be available everyday for about an hour as well. During Extended Play, everyone is a member of the Crowd; players still try to answer questions correctly, but points are awarded based on how many players get an answer wrong. Host Cashman won't be available for this mode (though Taylor's automated voice will take players through the game), and the prizes are different as well. Instead of competing for MS points or games, each correct answer enrolls the player in a sweepstakes for items, such as a Zune or home theater system.
