Snowboard, skateboard, track, etc would be cool!
BTW, people rant on wii-fit, but, this isn't the first time nintendo has released something like it:
See?
It worked out just fine back then, and people still claim the NES rules, so, get over yourselfs, there's nothing wrong with WiiFit, if you are too lazy to use it, that's cool, but, don't bag it because of that.

All I'm saying is I would rather see Nintendo focus more on games than gimmicks. Have fun with your balance board, I'm sure those games are gonna ROCK!

GOTY last year, first AAAE of this year,
you sure they aren't focusing on games? I think everyone agrees the first party title support for the wii is amazing.

Nintendo makes new franchises all the time. Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Warioware, Brain Age, Battalion Wars, Wii ____, etc. are all new franchise.
I could go on but you get the point, just cuz Mario, Metroid and Zelda are awesome, doesn't mean it's the only trick up their sleave.

Wii___, Brain Age don't count(again with the gimmicks), and the rest of those were created last gen.

Are those exclusive to the playbox 290 or something?
Wii has new IPs,
like no more heroes, trauma center, baraque, rygar, monster lab, etc,
it needs more, but, nintendo has always banked on the big franchises *it* created,
keep in mind, Nintendo, not a third party, but Nintendo, created Donkey Kong, which created Mario Bros, and from there Zelda was created, etc, so, you know.
I have a pc, a wii and a ps3. *shrugs*

Sure they count... Why shouldn't they? Because the Gimmick is in how you play them, not in the game it's self? (All games have Gimmicks that make them different from your basic game of that genre.)

I agree that Mario, Zelda, etc. are great franchises(I grew up with them) it just seems like instead of making a balance board they could focus on core games. BTW, the playbox 290 has more third party support than Nintendo could ever dream of and Rygar is a really old franchise.

You really consider Wii___ and Brain Age full fledged games? If I wanted to bowl I would rather go bowling and I get to exercise my mind everyday in school. I play games because they are games not simulations of life.

Is it? I don't know much about it,
Baroque does look amazing, admit it!
Tales Of Symphonia 2, etc, there's a ton of good looking games coming for Wii,
I dunno about the third party support, maybe Nintendo demands approval or something?
It's a mystery to me, the genesis had more third party titles, the snes sold way more,
no idea why...??
But, the point is, first party support for the Wii is far from lacking,
as such, creating a balance board and such is cool, because they can do it all.

I agree that it is a decent lineup I just think it could be better. Also, the SNES had killer third party support. That era of gaming in general was just pure greatness.
I still can't believe that Nintendo is making a Wii balance board. It really makes me sad that Nintendo is pushing WiiFit when they could be creating some *ahem* new franchises for the gamers that have supported them through thick and thin. lupinelope
and in the process....continue to struggle and go out of business. in case u havent noticed...those fans that supported them through thick and thin are getting fewer and fewer. if ninty were to just focus on the few long term fans theyve got left then they would be finished. its that simple. many ppl argue that ninty are abandoning the gamers and so on (something i dont personally believe but anyway). i would argue that we told them to shove it first. 25million GCs sold (compared to 35 for the N64 and 60 for the snes)....ninty cant survive on 25million consoles (no one can). message recieved loud and clear from the market...we dont want what ure offering.
ninty are simply doing what they need to do to survive. there offering somethign different and theyve now recieved a new message "we like it". if ninty were to just make a console with 360 levels of horsepower and have the same controller and same games for the same markets then nintendo, in the console market, would be finished. its that simple.

If there old franchises are consistantly great, why even bother making new ones? The point is, they do make new franchises, even if not at a particularly great rate, but then they hold on to those franchises, and make sequal after sequal, each one better than the last.
They give us new IPs, and then keep making them.
