no
no surprise, every sony related game thread at neogaf have 2000+ response.
that's typical sony hype style.

I don't know what's more depressing, that companies do this or that people are suprised by it.PBSnipes
What surprises me is that people believe whatever they read on the internet, and without bothering to check when their Digg post were submitted, or the source.
I don't remember exactly what happened because it was a frightingly unimportant event, but I managed to dig up the NeoGAF thread. It's mostly people making fun of the whole thing, but I managed to find a post describing how things went down.
"1,000 new NeoGaf members.. i submit to you, the internets, that they are Sony shills!
"Thats crazy! You have no proof!"
"I have all the proof in the world! Check out the comments from these new members... PRAISING SONY!"
"Ha! Out of 1,000 people of course some are bound to favour Sony! This proves nothing"
"Yes... but thats not all. If you check the forum you can clearly see the NPD reps username is.... SONYcowboy!!!!!"
"Nooooooooo!!!! He's right!! Sony .. Neogaf... they... tricked us all!"Painey

Are you new to the internet??
Over a year old and fake....
Sounds like a news story only made to a) make Sony look bad, and b) get people to snoop around in the Neogaf forums and subsequently join their forums.the-very-best
considering sony was behind the "all i want for christmas is a psp" thing and the sony graffiti, i wouldn't be suprised if this was true.
Well, I don't know about Sony Fakeboys, but I know that Peter Monyleux types here under the pen-name of Saolin, and Satoru Iwata and Reggie Fils-Aimes take the names of Spider_Jones and Kakarot00769, respectively.Killer_Wuggles
so true xD
Since you could make infinite PSN IDs, there's a chance there's some advertisers that can make fake PSN ID accounts just to promote whatever they like. Crazy.

It isn't. Some guy at the VG Chartz forum (or if it was PS3forums) made it up. His reasoning for the 1000+ newly approved accounts being shills went something like what I described in my post on the previous page.
IF EVERYONE would actually click on the link, not only would they find out this is extremely old, but that it isn't credible at all, but just some random post.
Instead, people are bashing Sony and mindlessly throwing in their 2 cents about how horrible Sony is.
Here :
Nintendo sold the rights of Metroid to Bungie, and since Bungie broke away from M$, they are porting Metroid to PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, and ZUNE. Oh Great.
Now, I can wait for people like the TC to find this on GOOGLE, and post it as proof a YEAR from now.
It's true, I made it up just now, but it's bound to be true In some universe.

If Sony has 1000 fake accounts to promote their products
Microsoft has there own man to edit Xbox's Wikipedia articles
I'm pretty sure more than 1000 people read 360 wiki pages everyday
Dante865

"Submitted: 1 year 11 days ago" Yay? :?IbacaiYea really. I wish people would start paying attention to the dates to the articles they read and decide to post here. It is over a year old, meaning nobody cares. Next time, post something up to date will ya.
