Well to all you AMD users rest assured EA games will run well accordingly

Andersson also revealed another Frostbite 3 game that should have Mantle support "out of the box": Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. But it's not the only one. A whopping 15 other Frostbite 3-powered games currently in development will support Mantle. Based on the slide above, it looks like the Mirror's Edge prequel and Dragon Age: Inquisition will support Mantle, as will future Mass Effect, and Need For Speed, and Star Wars games. That's in addition to titles from other studios, such as Thief and Star Citizen.

If the performance sucks on NV cards I just wont buy the games. Simpel as that. It doesn't look like it'll be a big deal looking at the list of games anyway.

Star Citizen runs with 4th gen CryEngine and plans to have Mantle support.

Theif reboot runs with Unreal Engine ?? and plans to have Mantle support.

AMD's Mantle APIs are closer to PS4's APIs.

AMD Mantle supports HLSL (i.e. High Level Shader Language) which NVIDIA also supports. PS4's PSSL is similar to HLSL.

If mantle does actually improve fps significantly and whatever series of amd cards that'll match the 800 series from nvidia are as powerful and priced cheaper, i don't see the point of nvidia then. Frostbite is great and i expect a lot of games in the near future use it. Will grab an amd card instead of a 870 if its actually worth it

bypasses DirectX/OpenCL and also bypasses a lot of the CPU, allowing game devs to use the Mantle API to get direct access to a PC's video card. Today's cards are far more powerful than the software allows them to be because they have to wrestle with the CPU and layers of DirectX.

We'll see in December what this is capable of when it hits for BF4. AMD said in their reddit AMA that "they wouldn't be wasting their time with this if it was a mere ~5% increase."

AMD also want's to make Mantle for Linux... so it means all these games probably will be playable on Linux as DirectX is the main reason games do not work.

Looks like my switch to AMD due to being low on funds wasn't a bad thing after all.

Looking forward to see what kind of performance increase mantle can bring. Hopefully, the next ME and DA games would be good in the gameplay department as well, and not just graphics and performance.

I just bought a 2GB 7870 Ghz edition, so I'm amped for Mantle...benchmark marks have shown some good gains on games that do use it.

Brings back memories of 3dfx's bad@$$ Glide API back in the day of the Voodoo 1/2.
