[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]You should have put "On Amazon" in the title.88mphSlayer
Amason is a pretty accurate indicator of what will happen at retail tho :/
Yes, it's #48 on Amazon's Top 100 list. I'm curious to see how many pre-orders Gamestop has for both of these. I already pre-ordered KINECT, but I need to pre-order some of the games. I have no plans of getting MOVE this year, but will check it out sometime next year is Sony doesn't pull the plug on it.
XanderZane
honestly if you really want Kinect then pre-order at walmart.com you basically get $10 off an extra Kinect game of your choosing and a $30 gift card which you can then spend on Halo: Reach or whatever
Oh snap. I didn't know that. I'll check it out this weekend. The $150 Halo Reach bundle isn't going to sell many. The Halo 3 Helmet bundle didn't sell all that great. There were tons of them still on retail shelves every where I went. So seeing this at the bottom of Amazon's top 100 is no surprise. It's pretty much a given. Check and see where the Halo: Reach Collector's Edition is at?XanderZane
I really don't care about how much any of those bundles sell, I just thought it was a funny comparison. I'm actually impressed that a $150 collector's edition pre-order can get into the top 100. I guess it helps that it comes with a $20 Amazon credit. I suppose I would buy it over Kinect or Playstation Move if I was forced to choose.
KINECT is 48 on the list and it costs more then the MOVE. LOL!!
XanderZane
Kinect comes out later too.
[QUOTE="dkjestrup"]We don't care if the Move doesn't sell well. It was never going to get the Wii crowd, neither will Eye...I mean Kinect. The thing is, the Move will support Socom 4, Killzone 3, LBP2 and Resident Evil 5. The Kinect has an extremely laughable line-up.XanderZaneYeah.. but all those games will play better WITHOUT MOVE. We all know that. If you ask PS3 gamers if they would rather player those games with a PS3 controller or MOVE, what do you think they would say? Even though KINECT new titles aren't the great, they are at least developed from the ground up to function with the KINECT interface. MOVE was just tacked on to those existing games. The best game MOVE has is Sorcerer. It's preference whether they'll play better or not.
Objectively the most precise way to play fast-twitch first person shooter is likely with a KB/M.
Some people probably like the pointer control scheme for FPS/TPS, as used in RE4 on the Wii.
Developing from the ground up doesn't necessarily make the interface more naturally integrated.
The Move support that was literally tacked-on for Ubisoft's RTS R.U.S.E over a few weeks is apparently a more natural control scheme than the controller.

It actually generally does, only rarely does it not. Games are designed around input so the game can only be as complex and play as well as the input allows. All your example says is that an external interface can work better than the pre determined one. This of course is true (RE4:Wii) but its normally not the case.
Developing from the ground up doesn't necessarily make the interface more naturally integrated.Well I'm sure that the 5 people who buy R.U.S.E for the Move support will really enjoy it.The Move support that was literally tacked-on for Ubisoft's RTS R.U.S.E over a few weeks is apparently a more natural control scheme than the controller.

i agree with this statementMove will fail, hopefully Kinect too. All hail the regular controller!!

I love the "it's Halo" answers. That should show you how dominate the brand is. Anyway, wait the Move isn't even on the top 100? I would rather buy the $100 Move bundle than the $150 Reach edition.
gago-gago
yeah , but what game is with that $100 Move bundle?
I doubt it would be near the same calibre as Halo Reach.
oh no another halo game that is being hyped to hell and back.....oh no.......ReaperV7
are you still surprised that Halo is highly anticipated?
[QUOTE="dc337"]
[QUOTE="moose_knuckler"]Why should this be suprising anyway? It's Halo and this is only limited to Amazon.mysterj
360 did outsell the Wii last month you can check the figures in fact it was on the front page of gamespot a few days ago...so yes I say Amazon is a pretty good indicator of whats going on.
So I was looking at Amazon video games sales data and noticed that the Playstation Move wasn't in the top 100. I was curious as to what was at the bottom of the list and noticed the $150 Halo Reach Legendary edition which is basically Halo Reach with some McFarlane toys in a big box.
This led me to reach two conclusions:
1. Playstation Move will bomb.....hard. If you have pre-ordered it then go ahead and cancel because this is going to be a dead-end accessory. The crowd that bought the Wii has zero interest in it.
2. Halo fans are not being properly milked. There needs to be a $600 Halo themed Xbox edition. MS is throwing money away by only having a $150 edition.
For those that say "Amazon pre-orders don't matter" please be aware that many of you made the same comment in an earlier thread where I pointed out that Alan Wake pre-orders were surprisingly low given the amount of hype it had.

I don't get people like you. The $150 Halo Reach is for people who have money to spare and love collecting things. You aren't being forced to buy it, if you want to just play Reach buy the $60 one. Personally im getting the collectors edtion which isn't too expensive at $80.

For people who think move is going to work well in hardcore games like shooters... dont worry it wont.
its been shown that the playstation eye isnt used for aiming... the only thing thats used is the the six axis function of the move controller... so you should be able to get the same aiming effect by playing with a controller and tilting it to aim instead of using the thumbstick
move is gonna be a massive failure.
HAIL! Although this Amazon list doesn't indicate the "success" or "failure" of PS3 Move, I personally would like to see it fail. I already have a Nintendo Wii. And Nintendo Wii's games are best suited for motion controls.Move will fail, hopefully Kinect too. All hail the regular controller!!

That's good to hear. If anyone here has ever played The Conduit on the Nintendo Wii, you would have a general idea of how motion controls and FPS games would be like. Imo, I hate it, especially for FPS games. I can't even begin to fathom how it would be implemented with third-person shooters. For people who think move is going to work well in hardcore games like shooters... dont worry it wont.

It's also being outsold by regular DS3 controller, man this is like pretty useless data from Amazon. Should we also assume that both PS3 and 360 is outselling Wii then? Cuz that's what Amazon tells us.[QUOTE="mysterj"]
[QUOTE="dc337"]
The point is more that it is outside the top 100 as shown by being outsold by a $150 Halo toy box.
It's also being outsold by the God of War collection. Sony will make more money from a ps2 re-release.
It's a big fat bomb, don't even bother with damage control.TacticalDesire

Yeah except PS3 definitely didn't outsell the Wii, so this is still pretty dumb.[QUOTE="Elian2530"][QUOTE="markinthedark"]That's good to hear. I do. Metroid Prime 3 is the only exception and that's a Wii game. MP3's controls is probably my favorite use of the Wii motion controls. I'm refering to PS3 and 360 shooters with motion controls. I dont know how it will work. I guess they would just have to replicate what Metroid Prime 3 did?
Btw. Motion Plus does not work with games that do not support Motion plus. Metroid Prime 3 being one of them.
Really? I didn't find either Move or Kinect very interesting (seeing as I used to have a wii.... and it sucked) but I'd rather play the move, and might get it depending on what games support it. Kinect looks like an eyetoy to me basically.
magnax1
MOve is far closer to Wii than Kinect though
Also if Kinect was like Eyetoy, or better Eeytoy like Kinect, why does PS3 MOve need sticks for the handsfor 3D motion???
While Kinect does 3D mapping hands free for the whole body ? And why Kinect has two cameras ?
They dont look same to me, in the slightest little bit
Move and Kinect will bomb
This is no surprise
toast_burner
Actually there is huae demand for Kinect, it is top 100 pre-orders in most sites too
Pre-orders aren't the same as sales. Who would pre-order Move? If you want it it'll be plenty available on launch for you to buy it. Reach legendary edition will be in limited supply however.

Lol, you just keep copy/pasting your own post about how great Kinect is.
Have fun with Skittles.

pre orders clearly show demand, and Kinect shows far more demand than Move so far

Well, anything to avoid holding two huge sticks with a vast light bulb at their end, anything
The most anticipated game of the decade outselling a yet-to-be proven motion controller? REALLY? Un-freakin'-believable! :roll:nervmeisterits 2010, the decade just started.
