So far the UI is my least favorite thing regarding the PS4, but I'll probably get used to it eventually.

@k2theswiss: Even if the black was changed, what's the point. Nothing will really show where's as on PS4 you'll see more of the Wallpaper. PS4 UI has just the right amount of "life". X1 is too cluttered and blocky by nature. PS4 has elegance to it.

You are right whats the point? who gives a damn about the background. They are only there to fill in the gaps, ease the eye and make things pop.

Sorry but there is nothing cluttered on there IMO but hey that's your opinion if you like simple ui that looks like clicking the bookmark bar

Nah, he's right. The X1's UI looks tons better than the PS4's. Tiles work for consoles, not PC's Microsoft.

@k2theswiss: No, that's the main UI. The part that launches games. Sony showed that months ago, have you not seen it? Anyways, this place is dead. The old system wars would have at least 40-60 posts for a topic like this by now. The new site turned away that many people?

ya That looks far better then what was shown on that video. IDK really where that is placed on that ui though you said it's the "my games" section Similer to what the 360 has in a way. Sure isn't the home screen, so really comparing isn't good . With the MS pic it's under "my pins" Where you can pretty much move what you want, which in the end on that picture looks cluttered.

PS4's UI reminds me a lot of PS3s, which was absolutely brilliant. 360's was cluttered garbage.

Doesn't look like anything special, but as long as it's functional, I guess that's all that matters.

It looks good, obviously we'll have the option to change the color from blue. I love how people hate on the interface of both consoles. What did you expect? You navigate with your controller, it's not going to be like a PC....

Was this designed by the same person who did the new Gamespot layout?

Looks similar to the PS3 XMB, which I really didn't like. Found it boring and needlessly convoluted. This looks similar in that regard.

Not going to watch, i need to surprise myself when i try it out myself next month :P

I like it, it reminds me of the PS3 UI, which I liked over the mess that was the ever changing 360 slow UI.

Wow....just wow...

The PS4 UI looks like a poor clone of the 360 dashboard, it's a mess compared to the Xbox One previews I've seen - to the point it's quite off-putting (as was the XMB). Sigh. As long as there's a boot to disc option, all's well.

Despite the low quality it's still noticeable how much faster the UI responds. It's clean and simple so putting your own wallpaper on there would look pretty slick.

Only looks dull as it seems they've got next to nothing loaded on it, don't have a profile signed in, most of the stuff is in offline mode, they seem to spend most of their time in the settings and web browser and the video's in about 360p. Imagine looking at the new Xbox's UI without any of the online stuff loaded in and the same circumstances and you'd think that were dull too. Personally i'll be happy slapping a nice wallpaper down on there and it looks quicker than the Xbox's which is the main thing for me.

Looks fairly even on the UI front to me. Only real difference outside of the aesthetics is that the PS4's is a bit quicker.

Some people need to go outside more often if all they can bitch about is the look of a UI they have yet to use

those 2 guys made me hate it although it looks perfect.

Lets wait til we see some customized themes for it.

It's simple and effective without using the whole screen. If PS4 UI is anything like PS3's, it's a win.

Elabortate. All the posters hating on PS4s UI are going by the icons only and not whats in the dropdown of those icons. PS4s UI is way more elegant. Its full of activity but not too much.
