I haven't seen any hate for this game yet from critics. Unless, of course, a 7/10 rating is a bad rating. The only hate I hear are from fanboys who want it to fail just for the sake of failing. A 7.0 from IGN is hardly something to be proud of. a 7.0 game isnt inherently bad... but that isnt that great a review. It certainly seems like thats decidedly below average for titles as big as MAG (well advertised, anticipated, etc, not just tiny titles). A rating in the 7's isnt a fail... but it does not scream success, to put it mildly =p i dont think you want to bring up IGN's review if your defending the game.
my guess is 7.5 from GS, though I could be surprised. The reviews seem to basically say
Cool new idea (MMO type shooter with massive battles) but with many flaws. Solid combat, imba factions, more people in the game doesnt actually make it more fun yet.
I think actually a MAG 2 could show promise. They would have to make a lot of changes balancing various stuff, but some parts of it are fairly innovative and new. I think they will hit the wall of the fact that they are trying to make a game based on "squads" commanded by commanders and etc, so it is best with a high level of organization. The average player just will often just not try hard enough to achieve that level of organization, and more importantly, simply PSN doesn't have enough mics lol. It doesnt quite compare to other shooters when no1 has mikes and its uncoordinated, then it just turns into a chaotic "HOLD DOWN TRIGGER oh im dead.)
