and those were just released afew days ago.. did you even see any of the gameplay videos from IGN?

1up is really desperate for hits, they will say anything. I remember the thing with Mass Effect where they said tons of

negative things about it and didn't once mention a good thing, it was so obvious they were trying to get attention. It was sad really.Vaasman

Sadly in this generation, it seems like more people care about the graphics more so then the actual gameplay.

Not really. People like to compare them because they're both epic sci-fi games with conversation systems, but aside from that, both of the games are radically different.

no my 360 is fine but i was one of the many that the game froze, framerate was slow in big battles, and even when you were walking the screen tearing was terrible sometimes.

True but i still think 1up is more credible then gamespot on reviews you have to understand the podcasts are not really always the people who review the game.

I had the same issues with ME. But aside from that, 1up has its share of wtf moments during podcasts, but they're fun to listen to.

The only thing that's silly is the idea that Eternal Sonata looks reminescent of anything other than Dreamcast simply because you say so.

As far as I'm concerned, they were right on the money. The game is cell-shaded for crying out loud. It's very specialized and can look stylistic, but it's still pretty basic.

So you see, the matter isn't as clear cut as you'd like to label it. Even if I didn't agree with them, I could still understand why they'd say it. So no, they didn't "throw their credibility right out the window."

I would, but 1Up doesn't have as active a community as Gamespot does. Their boards are less restrictive, but they're also very dead.

I think most people at 1-up are fair gamers but this podcast came from 1-up yours. Shane Bettenhausen for example is a bigger Sony fanboy then basicly anyone that comes to this forum. He acts like a rabid 12 year old Sony fanboy throughout every show. That is one of the only podcasts I do not listen to anymore over there. I mean my god if this game was a PS3 exclusive but was using stick figures the 1-up yous show would be acting as if was AAA no doubt. I can not even believe someone even gives any game info from them credit.

thats because this gen gameplay consists of Gears of War ripoffs and GTA ripoffs, or a mix of both, so the only thing worth looking up to is graphics :(

So true, their actually one of the last sources I'd ever check for reviews, previews or anything, sometimes I have to stop reading since their bias in some fields just pours out like a faucet on maximum, they give some AAA titles, as low as a 6 sometimes, for extremly minor gameplay flaws.. the list goes on and on, I also have quite a distaste for their staff as a whole.

SO4 looks awesome, I don't care if it doesn't look 100% like those screens, the gameplay video still looked awesome, and I'll be pre-ordering it closer to its release.

1up also posted an article praising the game. I'm guessing that PS3 fanboy was the one complaining about it. I don't know his name, but they give him like a 10 minute rant section every week (I don't know why they seem to idolize him) and he never has anything positive to say about the 360.
