Doesn't really give a definitive answer, but a good comparison either way.  I personally think that PS3 is clearly a better value, but right now the 360 is the better system.

even though i dont care about movies, the 20 GB is a better deal considering it has built in blu ray. elite is just a bigger HardDrive.

hmm...

199.99 + 99.99 + 79.99 + 83.15 + 19.99 + 49.99 = 533.1

533.1 + 479.99 = 1 013.09

its not in the price value...its in the games value...............im a 360 owner.

and if i had to choose between an Elite 360, from a Core PS3 with Blu-Ray, Cell Processor, Bluetooth bla bla bla,

i would still choose the Elite 360, becuase i can play the games i want and that i like, so it depends in the Games Value, not the Price Value, altough i think this is a really bad move from MS :(

lol@games value. PS2 is better than all. But between 360 and PS3, PS3 lose points for not having rumble. I just played a game called GRAW 2 at gamestop, the rumble really vibrates when u shoot. PS3 needs to hurry and bring back rumble.

I play rumbleless graw in my pc, and I'm fine with it. In my opinion, rumble rarely helps game immersion. And i can count in one hand the games that use it in a really clever way. But whatever tickles your bell... :)

The Elite 360 is clearly inferior to the Premium PS3 in multimedia value.  But the 360 is clearly superior in the terms of gaming value.  The PS3 is still not quite around the bend, but it's getting there.

How can you say the PS3 is the better value when both consoles came in at about $850? For that money, you get the "same" features?

Remember ps3 comes with bluray.... if you want hddvd it will cost 200 dollars which goes to 675 for elite black 360. Costs more than 60gb ps3. Plus it has built in wifi with free online.

hddvd is not needed (dvd is fine and enough for games seeing as xbox has better games), wireless card isnt needed (ehternet is faster), play and charge kit isnt needed (batteries are dirt cheap),
xbox live is an acceptable charge to add on to the priceand its so much better than psn that its worth the cost

You included three things that do the same thing. They just listed cheaper alternatives. * Wireless Internet support: Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter -- $99.99 Other Options: D-Link DGL 3420 -- $79.99 WGA54G Wireless G-Gaming Adapter -- $83.15

no truer words have ever been spoken about a GAMING console. lets not forget people that this is a GAMING console first and whateverelse next, not vice versa.

Yeah I been real happy with the battery life I get out of the AA I put in XBOX360. You gotta constantly charge that PS3 controller. Might as well keep it hooked to the USB.

Oh yeah, I see that now. My mistake.

But why did they add component and hdmi cable to the ps3 list? Isn't it a self exclusive choice or do you need both?

How about $100 bucks for a headset. You can get a crappy logitec for $30 bucks and a Motorolla one for $50 on amazon.

They added those because headset and cables come with the 360. I think they put all the first party accessories to keep consistency.

Yeah. You can't look at it sole as of "right now". By the end of the year, we'll see PS3 really mature.

First party consistency, regardless of price and quality that is. The 360 headset is a piece of crap :(. But still it comes standard :).
