2 years later and Final Fantasy 7 remake is still not on Xbox..

In just a few days, FF7 Remake will already be 2 years old. I thought it was a PS exclusive for 1 year. It did eventually come to PC (but only on Epic). What do you think, SW? Will FF7 Remake be announced for Xbox and the rest of PC soon? Also, what do you think about when FF7 Remake 2 will come out?

Very unfortunate. Would have loved to have played it by now. It was what it is though. Perhaps Sony extended the exclusivity deal with the Yuffie dlc or something.

Got robbed by The Last of Us 2. FFVII Remake should've been GOTY even in it's incomplete state. And lol Xbox. Go play some 360 games or something back when they actually had good RPG's.

sony paid for 1.5 years exclusivity and they paid out of their ass for it. Im guessing it was at least $50 million. Its the easiest $50 million SE made. Just imagine, a company is paying you $50 million to literally do nothing, to NOT put a game on a competitors system. You just sit back and wait for the brinks truck.

For SE its a business decision at this point. I'm not sure enough xbox gamers would care to play it.

I have no doubt that the game will end up on xbox some day, maybe MS will pay SE to put it on gamepass and they'll take that deal.

Sucks for Lemmings that they can't experience what is likely the best game of last gen. No question its a masterpiece and up there with the greatest games of all time.

Dragon quest 10 is better, I'd argue octopath is better. And octopath isnt great just good.

the game is MEH at best. If you're a big time rpg fan with nostalgia for the og ff7, then yeah you might like it. I got past the train station section, and haven't gotten back into it.

I tried playing the game and it was cringe. Too many JRPG tropes. If someone can confirm that it changes overtime, I might suffer through the stale start.

For those that want the full experience while you wait for the remake to be completed in 20years.... you will be better off with the new 60 fps mod for the original game. Modding scene is pretty deep on this game and there are some nice other options to improve your experience for a proper remake.

im not going to say it was a bad game or anything. It was decent for what I played, just not my cup of tea. My favorite part of the game I played was actually the in game dart game where I spent a bit of time trying to get the high score.

2 years later and I've still been unable to find a shit to give about the FF7 remake, which isn't even a remake, just a lame ass reboot of the first disc of a 4 disc game.

Oh, come on. It ain't that bad. You just gotta man up and get through it. It's all about the story at the end of the day. Just give it a second chance.

3 disc game, and it's pretty much a sequel to the original.

Great game, that being said the real topic is 2 years later and not a single mention of when the next part will be released has surfaced… Biggest scam in history, do they just expect fans to be able to pick up the story 3-4 years later and just remember everything that happened in the first one!?

Considering how many times I've beaten both FFVII and FFVIIR, I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation. If I ever needed a refresher I would gladly play them both again because they're that good. I don't care how long it takes Square to make part 2, as long as they get it right.

Also worth noting they've confirmed we'll be getting new info sometime this year.

I think it's a fair assumption Sony and Square Enix are working something out on the side. That being said I think Sony probably doesn't need to pay Square Enix all that much. Typically a more prominent market leader doesn't need to pay much to undermine one with less market presence. Plus I am sure Square Enix is aware the amount of hype generation making their games exclusive does to help propel enthusiasm and even net those games more favorable reviews. I just assume besides Stranger In Paradise that's probably the only FF game Xbox might see for some years at this point. That is unless maybe Microsoft can grow its share of the market.

@regnaston: Ah, the amazing story and narrative. The class divide in the dystopian city of Midgar, their imperialistic war on Wutai, the extremes they go to in their scientific research. The Ancients and Aerith's backstory. Cloud and Sephiroths shared background in SOLDIER. Zack's role in it! How these events shaped Cloud's persona in the events that followed...

I could go on and on. FFVII's narrative is an absolute masterclass in storytelling.

@omegamaster: If you mainly play JRPGs and are fond of their awful storytelling and writing it would appear that this game isn't that bad. One day I will give it second go but it would require a lot of effort.

I own FF7 and have played it. Its better now that I dont have to turn base but it still isnt my thing. I wouldnt buy it again on Xbox
