2008 a year with 2 games that scored 10 here at gamespot. I own one (GTA IV). This year saw me gaming less than ever. IDK games are starting to loss its interest for me. This true for anyone else here
I game less and less each year... It's beginning to make feel a bit sad. :( I don't even know what will happen to me in three years' time. I'll be in College, and... I'll have to study, work, work-out, and ****. :(
More, perhaps. Last year I pushed myself too hard and didn't have a ton of time to game or do any other fun stuff, but I have laid back this year, stopped studying so freaking hard for upcoming tests and exams and lost contact with some more time consuming friends, and replaced them with friends that do what I do, mostly new gaming and hockey pals. Me and my GF have also been together less, by comparison to yesteryear. And honestly, I'm holding better than I was last year. I guess I'm just the kind of person that requires lots of free time to function properly. Not only that, this year has been great for gaming in itself, as I joined GameSpot just this year, and games have been picking up in quality. Three of my favorite games of all time came out this year, so I have had reason to game a bit more.
Here wait let me link you to something really quick.http://www.gamespot.com/this is a really awesome site and if you scroll down to the bottom it shows the top 10 games right at the bottom with their scores. And woe is me. In the top 10 alone there are 2 titles with a score of 10. That is only on the most popular of right now. So explain to me how 2008 only had 2 games scored a 10 in this whole year? Not to mention the average score would seem to be a 9 or higher. So how exactly is this year a bad year? Personally I do see this year as being great. VERY few games I purchased gave me that feeling of "Wow I completely wasted my money on this hunk of plastic". This year is great and it is very evident that gaming is becoming larger and the appreciation of it is growing as well. Long live gaming and gamers alike...we are all hopeful for 2009.
