It won't be better than Civilization 4: Complete Edition.
The original game and both expansion packs rocked. The best strategy game for the next couple of years.

Spore is both a simulation and an rts, Civ is just a TBS...
Spore is NOT a simulation.
And NEVER call one of the best games of all time "Just" a TBS...

That's stupid. Besides Spore will flop.

Spore is a simulation, you simulate a grwoth of a pet and civilization as you do in SIMS ...
And oh ... Civ4 is only one of the ebst games ever to you, to me after about 3 games it got old.

Not defending Spore, but could you be any more for a hypocrit fanboy? You put down Spore as a flop before its even released, because some one called your golden hope "just a TBS"..
[QUOTE="mistervengeance"]ugh it looks so stupidBigDaddyPOLOMore stupid than LBP? :|
Both of those games are seriously over-hyped. LBP is occasionally hyped AAAA and Spore is hyped GOTY.
7.5 each.

I'd put my money on Little Big Planet over Spore.
Maxis vs unkown Sony Devs?
A Creative platformer vs A creative Simulation which turns into an RTS and expands from microrganisms into a huge galaxy?
Yea ... I think your sporting the wrong side ;)
[QUOTE="Willy105"]We shouldn't be wondering if the PC version will be awesome or even more awesome.
We should be wondering how close the Wii version will be.
TDLlama
If it's anything like The Sims series, not that close.
And Spore is my favorite for GOTY hands down.
But if its anything like Sim City it will be good on Consoles But EAD made the SNES version of Sim City but Will Wright was Producer, so it might be like that for the Wii Version of Spore cause if it is just the Wii and DS versions they can just have EAD do it.I'm fine with either game winning, but I think Little Big Planet has an edge being on consoles (keep on reading). PC games usually have difficulty winning GOTY over console games (I'm not sure why, but judging from other GOTY's, it's been true most of the time), and then multi-plat games have less of a chance. Spore happens to be both. I am aware of exceptions to both of those, but there haven't been many.Maxis vs unkown Sony Devs?

[QUOTE="linkin_guy109"]most innovative lbp...if it comes out this year that is ;)
Meu2k7
Not sure if im reading what you said right, but this is more innovative than LPB.
Regardless, both will hopefully be great.[QUOTE="Meu2k7"]I'm fine with either game winning, but I think Little Big Planet has an edge being on consoles (keep on reading). Its not so much PC games having problems getting GOTY, its complicated games, or games with more depth that are not so pick up and play, or dont have broad appeal.
I mean this year? CoD4 ... Bioshock .... these 2 games are as simple as they get nearly, CoD4 being a rehash again set in modern times appealing the the online FPS fad thats come around ... Bioshokc ebing an extremely easy cloned ( Story/mechanics ) of System shock 2 .
I doubt SPore or LBP will with for those very reasons, something typically cheesy like GTA4 or Killzone 2 ( long shot xD ) will win.
That's stupid. Besides Spore will flop.

Considering who's in charge of this game, and his many past successes, what make you so sure it'll flop?

Its not so much PC games having trouble winning GOTY, its games on every platform having trouble beating Nintendo developed/nintendo platform games the past 4-5 years. (LOZ:WW, metriod orime, resident evil 4, galaxy) Afterall, a PC game last won it in 2004, and PC games have won 6 out of the 11 awards, So its not like PC games have never won it
