Even though I own a PS3, lets all be honest, most of 2007 sucked for the PS3. R&C is great, and Uncharted is yet to be released, but overall 2007 was a bad start for the PS3.
2008 seems like it should be the year when the PS3 finally starts to really pick up some steam. With the release of Home, plus titles like MGS4, and other big name exclusives, it looks like a good year. One of the things that could hinder the PS3 in 2008 is 3rd party support. Sony has got to do something to get these 3rd parties on board, otherwise it's gonna get more ugly than 2007.
The mulitplats should also have an affect on the PS3. Assassins Creed and Burnout Paradise are two of my favorite multiplats coming out. I just got my 360 back from being resurrected from the RROD and I am throughly enjoying it. The 360 seems to get the upper hand with multiplats, simply because MS does a good job to give developers the tools they need to get the games on 360 to run very well.
Sony has to start doing the same thing as MS, by giving 3rd party developers the help they need to make games on the PS3, that doesn't require dissecting the Cell. Sony has got to release something to the 3rd parties to make development easier on the PS3.
2008 will be the deciding year on the PS3's fate. I believe that, if games like MGS4 and LBP and FFXIII can't make people buy PS3's, then nothing ever will.
