meh i havent decided really, I guess so far Id say platinum since IM a huge pokemon fanboy plus it follows the classic JRPG format really well...IDK itll probably be different by the time the year is over though :P

I was gonna vote other for Empire but that game is just still too buggy for me. So far it's KZ2 for me, but the year hasn't really been too great so far imo.

Looking at the list, I'd have to say Killzone 2. But honestly, this year hasn't had many obvious GOTY contenders.

Killzone by a long shot (although i do need to get my hands on Blazblue :P )

Out of the choices in your poll, I'd have to say InFamous was the best game out of those. Killzone 2 was great but not Game of the Year and Resident Evil 5 was just so dissapointing. To be honest, my favorite game so far this year would have to be Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood but we all know that won't be Game of the Year :P

I would say the highest rated DS game of all time -- Chinatown wars has a damn well good chance of being Game of the Year. (And it also has received the highest score at Gamespot so far this year as well. ;))

I don't necessarily think 2009 has been a bad gaming year, but there has been a lot of parity. I don't see any game with a strong lead for GotY. I will be sad if the clock stikes midnight on Dec. 31st and the best rated game we've got is Street Fighter 4 though. (Stracraft 2, if released, will probably be GotY).

RFG by a long shot... thats about the only game that really has done something to prove itself other than strapping a chainsaw onto a gun and calling it a day

Toss up between KZ2 and InFamous.

Both the best games of the year so far with E:TW probably right behind it. (although I haven't played it)

Yes, I understand it came out last year, but I don't like paying $70 plus tax for new games when I can wait 6 months and get them cheap (I basically got it along with Viva Pinata: TIP for $10 each). I never played it before this year, so for me, it is my GOTY for 2009. Though, I am enjoying Gears 2 right now and just got Battlefield: Bad Company and Prince of Persia for $20 each today. So anything is possible.

i think BF 1943 is the only game ive felt really happy with!

capcom succesfully ruined RE5 with the levels rubbish, SF4 was amazing for about a week and then i havent played it since and my big hope prototype IMO was boring

best game ive played this year was when the gf finally got round to finishing pro leyton and passed it on to me

The only 2009 game I've played is Street Fighter 4, so I can't really vote on this poll. However, the best game I've played this year is Mass Effect. Yes, it's nearly 2 years old but I bought it a few weeks ago and enjoyed every minute of it so far.

what I will think be voted as 2009 game of the year will either be something lame like killzone 2 or if uncharted 2 comes out I think that would be a huge contender.
