Games that I suspect may be contenders for GOTY next year are the following so far.......

God of War 3

Final Fantasy XIII and Versus

Diablo III

Which of these or others do you think has the best chance of winning next year's GOTY?

God of War + Final Fantasy + Diablo = no more life

Out of the ones I've played it would have to be Diablo 3.... U_U.

nintendo must have a big game for next year we don't know of yet .. and with nintendo's track record when it comes to GOTY, it's safe to assume that whatever it is will be a strong nominee

I can't wait for God of War III, but I doubt it will get Game of the Year unless it mixes the formula up a bit. Out of the four games in the franchise, I think God of War I was the only one with a strong chance for Game of the Year for being new and different. II was just more of the same, but in a better way. Chains of Olympus was very short, worse controls, and it basically felt like the same thing.

Resident Evil 5 has a bigger chance than God of War III, I think. Resident Evil 4 owned God of War I after all.

It's hard to say at this point, but it's going to be on the Wii. Mad World, or whatever Nintendp puts out. Zelda Wii for the win.

C'mon guys, I know everyone wants something different, but if you didn't pick Diablo 3, shame on you.

And this is coming from a *mostly* console gamer.

What do you mean barely? They have a 20 minute gameplay video for Diablo III already...and a Debut Teaser.

Here's a crazy idea... Why don't we wait until most of these games are released before we start discussing which is GOTY ?

Better Final Fantasy titles have come out in the past decade that beat VII. It's just that Final Fantasy VII fanboys don't want to admit this being true.

Yes, those scores are still insanely good.

If Diablo I came out in 2006 when FFXII did, the latter would've definitely outscored.

Don't be surprised if Diablo III gets marks off for having dated gameplay. At least Final Fantasy switches it up every time.

But I don't know what Blizzard plans on doing, so I'm not going to pretend I do.
