Sadly, in spite of Microsoft and Sony's efforts, they just can't seem to keep up with the Wii' sales.
Once again, the Wii wins a year, like it did 2008 and 2007.

You speak the truth. OP lies and tries to start flame war. Amrite or amirite?
No, I'm trying to make a point.
Sales are all that matter. Period.

Kinda funny, people claim the Wii is a garbage console and that it matters nothing to anyone sane this gen.... yet is sells like crack.
Not according to the millions of people more that apparently prefer the Wii.Yeah but the PS3 and 360 are both better, so it doesn't matter.
jkhd831
In terms of what? To me the Wii is the best in terms of exclusives, where as the other two rely on multiplatform games, which I only like a few of - most of which are pretty over rated critically - all the ones that scored lower are better than the ones that scored higher.Yeah but the PS3 and 360 are both better, so it doesn't matter.

Also TC it isn't over the DS has some great looking games that release towards the end of the year. But yeah the Wii has been doing good this year. It will do better next year. But so will alot of the other systems.

If we're counting handhelds, then it's the year of the DS, just like last year, and the year before. But I'm talking about consoles here.Opinion.[QUOTE="jkhd831"]

It wont do as good next year as this year if the ps3 slim is surfaced w/ a price cut. Nope. You can't ever outlive a bad reputation. And in people's minds the PS3 will ALWAYS be too expensive (Partly because it probably won't ever be less expensive than its competition.)The Wii's 2009 has already been awesome, and is going to be a hell of a lot more awesome at the end of the year.
This year's goodness up til now:
What's still in store:
But this, of course, won't stop people who don't own or play the console to complain about the library. :D

Lol all those games fail and most are redundant expansions simply made for the purpose of grabbin yo mun33z. The other consoles have MOAR gamez and they are BETTAR k?
Of course the Wii's sales are the highest; it does well with the majority that is the casual market.

Although sales are a major factor in a company's success, it's high-quality products that prompt consumers to actually buy more products.
Imagine if, next generation, all of Nintendo's games failed horribly, with no end in sight. Would you really be interested in their products anymore?

I can't tell if you're joking.

..are YOU the one who was ACTUALLY serious with that list and the vry srs bzns statement at the bottom? Most of those games are cash-ins! Crazy fan boy!

The fact is, very few of Nintendo's first party titles have FAILED. I don't expect that they'll start failing any time soon either. There's a Nintendo cult out there, there has been since the 80s.I don't have a stake in any of the companies
Why should I care about sales, it is all about the games
For every good Wii Game you list, I can list 2 good (or better) PS3/360 Games. For a Dev or Company.. yes.. Sales are all that matter. Sadly You and I are Gamers. So your point is not valid. What counts for us is good games. And PS3/360 offer better games. Not only are the exclusives at least on par with Wii Exclusives, the Multiplats are awesome too.No, I'm trying to make a point.

I agree. TRUTH ^^^^^
It must feel good to own a console that sells well doesn't it? Whats the point of having games when it sells?

So your point is that you can have awesome fun if you're a Wii only user, and that you're in gaming heaven if you own a Wii AND a HD console? Good. That's exactly right. This generation of gaming is awesome - No platform is an exception.
But what then is the system war about? If it's about who won the generation, the Wii has already won. Just because something is popular doesn't mean you have to like it. I'm sorry if your favorite team isn't the one with the highest score.I don't have a stake in any of the companies

I don't think that Nintendo's going to majorly fail anytime soon, either. I was simply providing a hypothetical situation to show you that high-quality is what prompts people to buy products. Without quality, there's little encouragement.

Yea I agree, sometimes in life you just have to deal with situations. Like the games not getting the highest score in GS, thats why you're making this thread. amirite? ;)

It depends on who's point of view you look at
It's like if it was a sports team
Sales represent attendance at the arena and games represent wins the team has
As long as the attendance is strong (a la 360 and PS3) who cares? We care about wins

I disagreethis is probably flame bait.... but anyway....
nobody cares that my grandparents and my sister each bought a wii for exercise. they have double the sales and four times the market, that's pretty bad. compare the size of the wii online community, it's under 10 million, the ps3 and 360 both have over 20 million. the "hd clones" are better for actual games, wii is better for keeping yourself under 300. the clones and doing other things is best for staying under 175, healthy, and social.

I disagreeWell, it's about taste, and none of those are mine.. Again other then that one game.
Your point? Most people bought the PS2 from the start because it was a cheap DVD player. It did not keep it from getting good games.this is probably flame bait.... but anyway....

Then don't get a Wii. Based on reviews and previews though, it seems the people who have played most those games disagree with you about the list only having one interesting game.Well, it's about taste, and none of those are mine.. Again other then that one game.

[QUOTE="Legendaryscmt"]They are it's thanks to the sales that the Wii is getting more exclusive third party games. Too bad the majority of them are shovelware.Have fun playing with your sales then.

Well, I could care less about most of these things, as long as I enjoy the games that come out and have fun playing them, i'm happy. :D Lets go Wii!8)

...Which... is why no third party developer has really made a really high profile game for the Wii except a few ports. ...Which is also why they sell relatively like crap. Sales are important for developers, yeah. Which is why they don't make good games for the Wii. They make them for 360/PS3/PC instead.
