2010 is over, 2011 is upon us

What were your 3 favourtie games of 2010 AND what are your 3 most anticipated games of 2011

2010:

Mass Effect 2: Great Story, great cast of characters, superb voice acting, engrossing atmosphere, RPG streamlined and easier to organize, Shooting mechanics and squad management were greatly improved and much more enjoyable, EPIC ending

Enslaved: Superb story and character interaction, fast paced gameplay that never lets up, teamwork between Trip and Monkey worked well

Final Fantasy XIII: I find some of the hate for this game justified as it is no where near what a Final Fantasy game should be, however as a video game, i found it enjoyable due to its fast based battle system and intriguing story.

2011:

Uncharted 3: Loved Uncharted 2 to death, and this one looks like it is going to surpass Among Thieves. The graphical leap wont be as big as it was from 1-2, however that doesnt bother me, the game looks good anyway but more importantly it will undoubtedly be fun to PLAY!

Mass Effect 3: Very late to the Mass Effect bandwagon as I didnt start 1 until late 2009 and just finished it over the summer. I however finished 2 in about 5 days playing it for a total of 30 hours over that span (life was non-existent). I just want to see the Reaper invasion and see how the story unfolds.

Resistence 3/The Last Story: Tie, both look fantastic. The Last Story looks like the JRPG that will make gamers believe in JRPGs again and Resistance 3 has been on my waiting list since the end of Resistance 2.

3 Favorite for 2010

STALKER: Call of Pripyat: Took what made the previous games so good and improved on it in every possible way.

Amnesia the Dark Descent: A real horror game is always welcome, the lovecraft influence is a huge bonus.

Alpha Protocol: That game just oozes choice and consequence with some amazing moments. Really an evolution of the Deus Ex formula.

Looking forward to

Guild Wars 2: I don't do MMOs usually but being a huge fan of the first game and the manifesto video has me wanting this game more then any other game since Doom 3.

Witcher 2: A great company that supports DRM-free games and offers a quality product scores huge points in my book.

Tactics Ogre PSP: The first non-pc game I will have gotten in like 2 years, am a real sucker for this particular genre and know the game will be good just based on how Final Fantasy: Tactics (the best political story in any game period and the only good final fantasy game as far as I'm concerned) was.

3 favorite:

Bayonetta: the ultimate hack-n-slash/action game. Intense and complex combat mechanics, leaderboards, creative enemy and boss design, great music, and a laugh out loud worthy story. This all contributes to one of the most replayable games this generation for myself.

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor: I'm a sucker for anything Treasure developed. Having not played the first S&P I didn't know what to expect from the title and was more than pleasantly surprised. A pefect combination of shoot-em-up/rail shooter/action game with bosses that actually made me think of different ways of approaching them.

Heavy Rain: Never played indigo prophecy, so I was somewhat skeptical going into this title but once again, was overly content with my purchase. The story and mechanics kept me on the edge of my seat and it was a truly emotional experience. Currently going through my second playthrough of this game.

honorable mention: Vanquish

3 most anticipated:

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron: Done by the artists behind devil may cry and okami. As soon as I saw the trailer for this first shown at e3, this game instantly became my most anticipated. I fell in love at first sight with the art design, and if the combat and platforming is at least some what decent, I will definitely enjoy this title.

The Last Guardian: ICO and SOTC are 2 games that I talk about most with people outside of this forum. They're also both highly recommended by myself. I enjoyed ICO a bit more than I did shadow of the colossus, so I'm not only looking forward to the remake of both of those titles, but I'm extremely excited for team ico's last take on the spiritual franchise.

Muchi Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets bundle: Just like with Treasure, I'm a sucker for anything Cave developed. these are 2 titles that are consistently talked about in the shmup communities I participate in, and being that I seek the hardest danmaku shmups I can find, I hear these rank at the top of the list. Already got this bad boy (I guess I should say girl) preordered :D

3 Favorite of 2010: Bayonetta, Mass Effect 2, RDR (Heavy Rain- Honorable Mention)

Most Anticipated of 2011: Mortal Kombat, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Tie: Uncharted 3/Gears 3/Mass Effect 3

Its great to see a lot of diversity in all of your choices. It appears i was the most cliche in mine :p

Three Favorite of 2010:

AC Brotherhood - It's got the same great climbing that I loved in AC 2 plus the combat is even better. Execution streaks are some of the most fun I've ever had in a video game. And of course, the crazy ending lol.

ME 2 - It depicts an awesome universe with great characters and character quests. The non-character storyline wasn't as good as ME 1's main storyline imo, but it wasn't terrible either.

Halo: Reach - The multiplayer is just great. Didn't really care for the story as it seemed to drag on imo, but the multiplayer more than makes up for it.

Three most anticipated for 2011:

inFamous 2 - inFamous is one of my favorite games because it's just so satisfying scaling buildings, shooting people with electricity, and throwing electric bombs. I didn't really care for the lightening strike controlled via sixaxis at the end of the first game, but it only lasted for a bit.

Mass Effect 3 - I just love the universe (ME 1 [not 2] was probably my most played game last year because I felt it had such a interesting story combined with a huge universe).

Twisted Metal - I really enjoyed Twisted Metal Black so I absolutely can't wait for this.

Three Favorites Are:

Mass Effect 2 PC (i simply loved this game, i have played for about two days straight with no sleep till i beat it)

Battlefield Bad Company 2 X360 ( i have it for PC as well but i got my friends on 360 so i played it to death and still play it to this day because MP is just amazing and nothing comes close not even Black Ops which i also own.)

StarCraft 2 PC ( this game is amazing, i have really never played StarCraft but have gotten back to RTS because of this game, my last RTS was World In Conflict)

Honorable Mentions: - Mafia 2, Just Cause 2, Arma 2 OA.

Three Games im really looking forward to Next Year:

Mass Effect 3- have to finish the trilogy!

SOCOM 4 - i love socom, i usually play with Clans almost everyday for years on Gamebattles.com

The Witcher 2 - i loved the first one and cant wait for this game, i think this game is trully GFX king.
