2010 PS3 exclusives: overhyped

Just because Sony did well this year doesn't mean next year it's going to surpass the 360. Most of their exclusives are nothing special but are being over-hyped.

MAG: I thought after the lame beta cows would stop hyping this below average shooter but it still appears at the top of their exclusive lists.

White Knight Chronicles: Has been reviewed by Eurogamer and PSM UK and got an 8. Got an 8 by a PS mag.....yeah doesn't look like a AAA title.

Heavy Rain: All we have seen are a bunch of scripted events and it's a new unproven ip (no onedf would care about it if it wasn't an exclusive)

GoW 3:Probably going to have a great sp but with no lasting appeal or replay value.

So now what's really left: GT5 and Last Guardian (This game doesn't even have a release date yet)

- So, wait...I'm confused a bit. An 8 is a bad game? Not by my definition, it isn't.

- What, exactly, do you mean when you refer to Heavy Rain as "a new unproven ip"? How is it a bad thing that it's a new IP?

- You're bashing God of War 3 for having a great single-player experience, but with no lasting appeal or replay value? So what do you think Alan Wake will be?

- MAG...okay, I'll give you MAG. It was overhyped, but even most of the PS3 fans have stopped hyping it up.

- Why are you dismissing Gran Turismo 5 and Last Guardian? Both of these games have a great likelihood of being amazing.

I'd take god of War off that list if I were you. There aren't enough well crafted single player experiences around. We nee more games like Dead Space, Metroid Prime, and Zelda

MAG does not have much hype going for it. It will probably get average ratings and still be an enjoyable game.

Heavy Rain may not score AAAE, but it still looks like it will give a very unique experience that is unlike any game I have played before.

And God of War 3, well it's God of War. I don't think its possible to overhype that game

Many prefer 10 hours action packed adventure game than boring 20 hour RPGs.

read my post above. Fable and ME are both RPGs which are generally way longer than a button masher action game. Also Reach is pretty much a guaranteed AAA seeing as all Halos have been AAAs as well.

I never said it won't get AAA but it'll be good for a rental and that's it.

WKC did an excellent job of getting an 8/10 from Eurogamer... not an awful lot of games manage that (this is Eurogamer we're talking about, not IGN who dole out 9.5 scores free with Rice Krispies)

If anybody is still excited about MAG, then I have met them

God of War III... meh, lame characters and story, but I love a well produced action-adventure game with some puzzles thrown in so it should be great entertainment

Heavy Rain... one of my most eagerly anicipated games and new IP's are a good thing, didn't you know?

Also don't forget Yakuza 3 and Gran Turismo 5, not to mention it's possible we might even see ModNation Racers come next year and although I'm not holding my breath for the Agent to see the light of day in the near future, the spy MMO the Agency looks quite fascinating.

I do say sir, you forgot Final Fantasy XIII Versus.

MAG- It is overhyped, but it is losing some of the hype.

WKC- It is definately gonna be good. Maybe not AAA, but definately a worthwhile RPG.

Heavy Rain- I'll let you know how I feel after I play it.

GOW 3- It is gonna be owned by 90% of adult PS3 owners. Enjoy your 20+ hours of Fable 3 and Natal

GT 5- Gran Turismo has never failedto please me.

1. ME2 and maybe (alan wake) are multiplats.

2. Fable 3 will be like the okayish - fable 2

Heavy Rain : Many people loved their previous work, Indigo Prophesy, so of course the new one gets attention.

GoW 3 : The sequal to two AAA titles.

Add to those GT5 and Last Guardian, and it's as solid a line-up as any other platform.

Actually, by his rationale, Halo Reach will be Halo 3, since Halo 3 was actually Halo 2.5, then ODST was Halo 2.75, and now Reach will finally bring it up to 3

Perhaps, but I thought my point was better made by using his list and giving a reasoning behind the hype instead of just drawing blind conclusions (like he seems to do). All of those games deserve some hype.

All games you mentioned have one thing in common, they are all coming in Q1/Q2 only, let alone the rest of the year.

EDIT: WKC, is amazing, I played it.

GOW3 is a beast and GT5 will own.

Besides the typical troll material which I'm not going to bother commenting on, I just like to make a note that an 8/10 from Eurogamer is a 10 at gamespot. :)

How is god of war 3 overhyped? It is going to be AAA just like the other 2 games. It is the strongest sony franchise imo in terms of singleplayer. The first one won multiple game of the years.

Same with heavy rain.

I mean their are a couple exclusive games I think should remain 'undiscussed' which are god of war 3, halo reach, mass effect 2, Gran Turismo 5, splinter cell conviction, and last guardian. Why? Because those games are obviously going to be great.

Gran Turismo 5- My favorite series :)

GOW3- Epic gameplay. Its going to be amazing.

Heavy Rain- Very complex story with good branching.

Agent- Its Rockstar north!!
