This brings 360 userbase numbers down significantly to the 7-8m region...

According to FOX News (10pm TV News Report), an estimated 2.5 million Xbox 360s have been reported defective. This could be the reason behind the 1.1 Billion $ fix and warranty extension.

MS doesn't count refurbed units as sold. They are just replacements.

Well this doesn't make a new market leader, but I'm thinking it woulda happened by the end of the year anyway. Yeah, Halo 3 is gonna get a buncha Halo fans to finally buy the 360, but same for Wii and Smash Brothers, and probably Mario Galaxy.

They were sold before they broke..

The 360 is still market leader (Not for long though)

Actually they most definatley do. MS uses 2 different means to measure sales, shipped to retailers, and "in the hands of consumers"..... which undoubtedly includes replacemnts.
