Its a tough choice. They are both good for separate reasons. EA usually has a more polished title with higher production values, while 2k stays with their strengths in gameplay. However, it also matters across the sport. Obviously Football goes to EA as well as Soccer, and in my opinion so does Hockey. Basketball is generally a closer race and Baseball is 2k's game. Overall, I would go with EA
Which company is better. I think EA is better in basketball and 2k is better in hockey.

I think the other way round. Way round! Hey, what if 2k (I know it's an American and America-centric developer) developed a football (*sigh*soccer*sigh) game?
Ah, EA Fanboys. 2k Has the best basketball game ever made. NBA 2K11. Nba "Elite" 11 was cancelled because of NBA 2K11, and plus you have to admit it would've sucked bad. Football: EA Hockey: 2K Baseball: 2k Basketball: 2k Soccer:EA Overall: 2k Games OWNS Ea. Opinion & Truth :)
