Hmm, I would say the 360 for shooters, and the PS3 controller for everything else, I had a PS2 and Gamecube last gen and I got used to the PS2 controller.crazy-player
Pretty much what this guy said except I owned every system last gen
PS3 Controller wins by default. No sixaxis for 360.djsifer01
ha thats one of the good things about the 360 >.> lol
But yeah still I like the ps3 controller better because the buttons feel nicer and less stiff the L1-l2 and R1-R2 go together better then the bumper and the triggers, and the D pad is better
The 360 controller is better for FPS games, and the triggers are a little better, but the D.Pad on the PS3 is WAY better and imo Sixaxis gives the DS3 the edge.
I find it shocking how horrible the D-pad on the 360 is, the rest of the controller is great but the d-pad is really really bad.
For me, the 360's D-pad is a little loose, but at the same time, I hate the Duelshock 3's triggers. The buttons felt so much better to me.LegendaryscmtIf you hate the triggers, buy Real Triggers for 5 bucks. On topic, Ps3 controller any day for me. 360 controller is really awkward and clunky.

i concur but i also like the feel of the 360 controller its really comfortable not that the ds 3 isnt but the 360 one is more;)I will say the 360 controller is ok for fps but ps3 controller excels at everything else. One thing though since the mouse/keyboard owns the 360 controller in fps. It seems kinda like the 360 controller is a jack of all trades controller. When I think of jack of all trades; I think of that co-worker who has had like 20 jobs and you've only had like 3 because you excel at what you do and have been working at your 3rd job for many many years.sh0vetNice analogy, but you failed to mention where the DS "excells".

Fighters, rpg, platformers, etc.. You know the other games that have been done on the psx since like mid 90s. Other people have mentioned this in the thread.
You basically just asked me why I think a fast food place is unhealthy when we're standing in the place and I just stare blankly back and look at all the obese, coughing, about to have a heart attack people inside, etc...
I apologize I just didn't feel I had to explain I thought you just "knew." Surely you've played a playstation before it only came out in 95 the controllers worked for the same games back then why wouldn't they now.

 @ your completely irrelevant analogies. You're right, I should've known that it was your opinion with no substance for argument with the exception of "it's what the last d00d said". The completely unrelated analogy was just icing on the cake. :|any game that doesn't require the d-pad for solid gaming (like some fighting games) the PS3 has the better controller. For all other games that don't require precise dpad controls then 360.
If the 360 fixed it's dpad it would really make it king of controllers. Or if sony swapped its dpad and left stick positions, fixed the triggers so they felt more like a gun trigger, and made the stick a little more tight (less loose), and allowed you to swap out batteries it would be king.
The 360 controller is much better than the PS3's. The d-pad could use some work, but other than that, the controller is flawless and feels great in your hands, especially mine, which are exceptionally large. PS3's controllers are just too small for me, don't feel that comfortable in my hands, and I hate the lowered L2/R2 buttons. I so prefer the old Dualshock 2 controllers.atm0073
Thats odd, because I have really big hands, and find that the PS3 controller fits perfectly, whereas the 360 controller puts fingers at awkward angles. Its really just what your used to. There are two major faults on the 360 controller for me:
1. The analogue sticks are not in the same place either side, which is just stupid.
2. Its too close fitting on the hand, so any extended play time I find leads to sweaty palms. PS3 controller has all the buttons in the right places without having every part of your hand in contact with the controller. Much more comfortable!
PS3 Controller wins by default. No sixaxis for 360.djsifer01
How many games use sixaxis as a main feature, i can think of one, the supid rubber duck game that came out when the ps3 first came out. The sixaxis feels too light and made of flimsy cheap plastic and has no rumble feature, 360 controllers are more ergonomically designed and your less likley to get cramps in your thumbs. sony are releasing a messenger pad copy however it is to be put on the top of the controller meaning you have to stretch or move your hands to type on it, why diddnt they copy the 360's one exactly as it is much easier to type,
360 controller has a great desigh imo. PS3 controller is almost the same as the 1994 PSX one. It was a great controller for 90s standardsPAL360
and the 360 one is almost the same as the dreamcast one....It was a great design for failed consoles

Agreed. It is pure preference, however I find the offset D-PAD to actually be a flaw in the controllers design. The original DS was intended with only using the analogue functions on certain games, while older games didn't even support it. With few games requiring precise use of the D-PAD nowadays, it doesn't make sense to me while it is made more accessable than the left stick. That's why I essentially feel that the controller is a bit outdated.[QUOTE="djsifer01"]PS3 Controller wins by default. No sixaxis for 360.GOT_Sn4K3_eY3Z

I was mocking you, If somehting works the first time....why change it ...it seems to work for the COD franchise...and it seems to work for the Dualshock to...and yes the 360 is a copy of the dreamcast controller, the xbox was the spiritual successor to the dreamcast

 I think both MS and Sony are guilty of relying too much on what is established and popular. XBOX 720? PS4? Come on now, it isn't that difficult to think of something a bit more original. Since the PS2 was the FIRST console to use "shoulder buttons".So by your logic, the original PSX controller was essentially the SNES controller with an extra shoulder button? Was the dual stick design simply sony's answer to the N64's analogue stick and c-pad?
i think the 360 controller is awkward..the ps3 controller is symmetrical.WutTimeIsItI would say the PS3 controller is awkward and I bump my thumbs together all the time. 360 controller is th emost comfortable and aligned with the hands natural stance. So 360 controller for everything (except the d-pad on it)

Im not saying that 360 controller is very inovative. Im saying that it is perfectly ergononic at leat for my hands ;)
Dualshock is good, but not that good nowadays imo. As i saied before it was great by the PSX times. After that lots of better controllers like the N64, Dreamcast and the smaller version the xbox one came out!

what are you talking about you argue with nonsense, and biasedness.....I never said the dualshock controller was the first to use it, they just made it big and popular since everything pretty much wants to be what the ps2 was and Im talking about the 2 shoulder buttons one about and one below what the play station controllers had, the 360 copied that with the bumpers
all the current gen controllers copied off something get over it its life...nothing is original
Are you serious? You're the guy who came in here taking jabs at the controllers' originality. You lose all credibility in the second sentence (or what should be, being the post is essentially a run-on). I'm pretty sure the SNES was the first to make shoulder buttons "popular". Just about every console since then had them. Speaking of "biasedness", you seem awfully defensive of the PS2's design while questioning the originality of Microsoft's design. You can't argue innovation, then go on to claim it's irrelevance. The Xbox 360 controller is currently my favorite of all time.
Shouldn't be hard to guess my choice based on that alone.
PS3 Controller wins by default. No sixaxis for 360.djsifer01I am glad the 360 does not have six axis. If your gonna make motion control do it right not like the ds3.

I agree with you on this one, but I also agree with the guy who said the PS controller fits too small for me too, and feels REALLY light, i mean if it had a cable, I probably would have broken it for excessive pulling lol. I talk about Sixaxis, I actually broke a Dualshock when I was playing with a friend on a store lolThe 360 controller is so much better than the ergonomical mess that is the DS3 (except for the D-pad).

All these controllers yet they pale in comparison to a keyboard and mouse. The sheer amount of users of keyboards and mouse(s) in the business world and elsewhere; the keyboard/mouse must be comfy and easy to use or "fill in the blank I know you can." Game pads are useful for a couple of game genres and that's rpgs without fps elements, fighters, sport games, platformers. Its clear the playstion controller excels at these genres since it has for many years; many of these genres began (or began in 3d) on this very console. The playstation controller has worked for many years before the xbox was even created.
