To me disk swapping is no big deal at all. I mean there is only 1 game at the moment that does it in Blue Dragon. And it's so easy to open put disk in and sit back down.

Now for me having to connect the usb cable to the PS3 controller after every update is really annoying. You have to get out the wire unravel it plug it in. Then connect it to your controller and then hit the controller button. Then disconnect and put your cord away. And you have to do this a lot because Sony seems to have an update every other week it seems.

They sorted out the controller reconnect after Firmware 1.90, you only have to press the XMB button when it was finished.

Both systems have controller chargers. I don't even bother with the 360 i just buy a value pack of battiers and use them in my 360 controller.

And the PS3 recharge is not so bad one thing is the charge on the PS3 controllers last a pretty decent amount of time. Only bad thing is Sony even admits over time you will need to buy a new controller.

You don't have to plug in a controller to update the system anymore.

Connecting the controller is very annoying. I haven't had to disc swap a game in awhile so I'm not sure I can really give an unbiased opinion on that. I never know where I put that usb cable and then I have to try to put it somewhere I'll remember for next time. Still, Sony could fix the controller thing in an update, the potential for disc swapping is just a permanent thing for 360.

Sorry, but every other week is not alot. So going based on what you said (I don't have a PS3), I vote disk swapping. Because I will be swapping the disk (if playing a 2+ disk game) alot more than connecting the USB every other week.

Why so much talk about disc swapping? I don't think that there even are any two disc games on the 360, aside from the upcoming Blue Dragon. Speaking of system updates though, I'd better go check on my Wii's system update... I completely forgot it was downloading.

Why the hell is there so much talk about disc swapping lately? The only current 360 game (released OR announced) where disc swapping is needed is Blue Dragon...and that game has an enormous amount of cut scenes. Other than that, Oblivion is huge, GTA4 is going to be huge, Mass Effect is huge, Just Cause I believe is the largest map every created on a console...and all of these fit on one disc. So I don't understand why there are so many disc swapping threads.

Ignoring the fact that the PS3 cable reconnect thing was fixed through a recent update, this post still fails for one very basic reason.

Both the cable reconnect and disk swap are basically the EXACT same thing. You have to get off your butt and do something.

To try and say that one is more of a pain then the other is complete lunacy. They both suck. It just so happens that one of them doesn't exist anymore.

Swappable battery packs would have easily fixed that issue. I am still stunned that Sony didn't go that route. It would have solved two problems in one move. No more being tethered to the PS3 by a USB cable (and in my situation a really long one), and no more worries about thecontroller needing replacement. Just buy a new battery pack if your old ones start dieing quickly.

I've never had to reconnect my contoller after an update. Maybe the PS3 just doesn't like you.

but... who really sits and watches their update going on? noone- thats who. the disk swapping may take away from the experiance of a game but putting a lead into a controller while you go on the computer/watch tv/go out isnt a big deal.

You never got the "Please connect your Sixaxis via the USB cable" while trying to do an update? When did you get your PS3 because everyone had to do it before the last update. The TC misfired and doesn't know that it was during the update, not after.
