I am thinking about buying afriend of mine a 360 or PS3. Which do you think would be a better buy? The Elite has HDMI, 120 gig HDD, Wireless, and over a dozen AAA games. The 40 gig PS3 has no BC, no AAA games, and no wireless connection.

As a first time buyer of a 360 Elite or PS3, which would you pick this holiday season? Keep in mind the Elite is cheaper.

Actually the elite cost more but it's basically comes down to the games you think he will like. As for me 360 just doesn't have enough exclusive games for me to own one. Also the titles coming to PS3 just look better to me.

Unless I'm wrong, Elite doesn't come with wireless. And ps3 40gig does come with wireless, and is the better buy.

The elite is wirless. God these fanboys don't read. Just look at the game list and decide which one suits you most. I see nothing but 2 games on the ps3 that I would ever want. Thats me. You might dig some of the other games. 360 and wii are more then enough for me.

Well since you put it that way fanboy, the 360 elite has no backwards compatibility, no built in wireless card and will probably break in a few months. Where as the PS3 40 gig has wireless, has AAA games, has an upgradeable hard drive and is reliable maybe you should think twice.

PS: Next time do your own homework, it's called learning.

So I just checked to make sure, and the Elite is not wireless. You still have to buy the add on, unless the official site is wrong or I didn't see it.

I swear, its like half the posters in this thread don't own a next-gen console.

You want wireless internet on your 360? You've got to buy the adapter or use your computer knowledge and hook the system up to a bridge or similar device you already have.

Wireless on the PS3 40 GB is part of the system, no bs add-on.

The PS3 also doesn't have bs add ons like play-and-charge kits. For some reason, 360 can't charge its controllers using a simple usb cable plugged into the system, which is pathetic considering how much power that frigging EXTERNAL powerbrick must be supplying.

HD movie capabilities on PS3? FREE. 360? No.

PSN? Free. Home? Free, Live? No. Plus its got ads everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

but OMG, you have to buy a 10 dollar HDMI cable for your PS3! Damn you SONY!!!

I would get both an Elite and a 60 GB PS3, because then you are totally covered.

I have WiFi, but I stick with an Ethernet cable for gaming. I trust it more :?

Um, I assume everyone knows 360 is wireless controller. He is talking about wifi because he states the elite has it and the 40gig ps3 doesn't. He's just trolling. The only thing he got right in his post were the hard drive sizes on the systems.

NavigatorsGhost

You make me laugh, the play and charge kit is exactly that a USB cable that plugs into the 360 and to the controller and charges while you play or if you switch off the 360, the power is not cut completely and charges the controller until it's done after which it then shuts off completely, now the PS3 on the other hand can't even charge the controllers if it is off, how lame is that.

I have both systems and love both and at least know what I am talking about.

But its not just a USB cable. AND IT DOESN'T COME WITH THE SYSTEM, which is why I mentioned it in the first place. You get a frigging wireless controller and a pair of batteries? WTF is that? Give me a damn controller and a USB cable. GARBAGE.
