[QUOTE="Cranler"][QUOTE="Al3x_n90"][QUOTE="MojondeVACA"][QUOTE="Al3x_n90"][QUOTE="FFXIII360"][QUOTE="bsin94"][QUOTE="jack244"] Because Cows like to brag about have a system capable of rendering games in native 1080p. They claim 360 can't do this and even Sony claims this. Now two games are coming out that shoot down the theory that 360 can only upscale to 1080p.
I have a 1080p TV so it's a bonus.

Microsoft also said that 1080p was a joke, and not needed for gaming .
I've been gaming without 1080p all my life
Then my friend i feel sorry for you :P really you don't know wut ur missing
Upsclaed 1080 =/= native 1080p.
well yeah that's true but without 1080p?! that just wouldn't be modern gaming, i mean i used to play on a big SD tv but it couldn't handle AA so i bought a full HD plasma and now it's 1080p for me all the way :P
Your tv doesnt determine whether aa works or not.
1080p in gaming is just a nice buzzword for the uninformed.
Your still running the same hardware. A dev cant just double the amount of pixels without sacrificing something else.
1080p, 720p etc means nothing with game consoles.
Heres an example: COD 2 is 720p, COD 4 is 640p. COD 4 looks better. HDR, textures and shadows are more important than resolution.
PS2 could probably run Doom at 1080p but God of War at 480p would look better.
Alright let me say it this way, the SD wouldn't support only 576i get it? that isn't HD so on a big screen it looke horrible, hey it's morning in europe, what do you expect at 10 in the morning? And yeah i knew that stuff :P but still, a higher resolution helps you hide all the non crispy parts :P
Too bad the devs dont program the game to detect if your running in sd mode and increase the aa.
