360 has an AAAE this fall (It's not ODST or Forza 3!)

"It will be offered a la carte on Xbox Live for the price $19.99/MSP1,600 or at stores as part of the disc-based title Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. Retailing for $39.99, the latter bundles the Ballad of Gay Tony with the Lost and Damned and, interestingly, does not require the original GTAIV to play, as the downloadable expansions do."

I smell a review for the expansion to the AAAA title GTAIV! :D

Embrace yourselves cows, because this is a potential AAAE ;)

ODST has a tiny chance a AAAe, so that leaves forza(pretty much AAA). Next year reach= AAA and alot of other titles..

I'm glad it's not ODST cause that's gonna suck. But anyways who REALLY cares, we all know it's gonna be good, its Rockstar.

WTF are you people talking about? Expansions have always counted on SW. The only games that don't count are XBL/PSN/Wiiware/PC casual games.

Yes, yes, very true. And Gamespot won't have an excuse to not rate the expansions, as they are now on a 39.99 disc titled GTA: Episodes From Liberty City :)

Afterall, they reviewed Halo 2's expansion pack disk -- so perhaps they're just "behind". (like Gamespot normally is... even though the disk came out two months ago)

It's on PC and Xbox 360.

I don't think those are discs, those are codes you buy at the store and then enter on your 360 to download it. Much like buying Xbox LIVE at the store. GTA:L&D had that too.

Just checked on Amazon, they are. You also need to have Fallout 3 disc to play it. GTA: Episodes From Liberty City does not require even playing GTAIV.

Wait.. this doesn't require the original GTA4 to play? I thought it was just a disc which installed the DLC onto the console. So wouldn't reviewing this be no different to the large amount of AAAEs on the PC that are expansion packs?

PC expansions count, look at this list:

Some of those AAAEs are expansion packs. I can see this counting on a disc without needing the original game.

Some AAAEs for PC are expansion packs like Crysis Warhead, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, etc., and strangely they count, look at the spreadsheet:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pc5oLqpenpT78W87pMfgvBA&gid=0

Though 360 does need more exclusives, LOL.

I'm with you one the WOW titles, but Warhead is it's own game. But I also think the stand-alone expansions should count. To put it another way; if you get Burning Crusade and install it, you're still playing WOW, it's just bigger. However, if you buy this upcoming 360 stand-alone expansion and select Ballad of..., you're playing Ballad of..., not GTA 4.

I know Warhead is it's own game, but people don't mind it since it's an expansion pack, and I agree with you. How can you be playing GTA 4 when the missions and main character technically isn't in GTA 4, plus you don't need GTA4 anyways since it has it's own disc.

Embrace yourselves cows, because this is a potential AAAE ;)

im pretty sure this won't count here since it is an expansion. and not a standalone expansion at that.

Not an expansion if you don't need GTA4 to run it. Sorry guys, this is a seperate game if you can buy it seperately. No vote matters, because this is just the way it is.
