how many old consoles do you have in your house. how many still work like nes, genesis, commadore 64 ect. DO you think 15 years from now your gonna be able to go back and play your 360.

Sony took out the Backward Capabilities to play ps2 games on PS3, So I'd be P.O'd like you too :p

I bought 4 ps2s and all of them died on me. The current ps3 models can't play ps2 games.

If people are willing to buy ps3s knowing it can't play ps2 games it won't stop people from buying the next xbox even if they didn't have 360 bc.

People like him stillthink that this is like last gen.:roll: The only reason why MS dropped support for the original X-Box was because it was bleeding them dry of their money, as well as most 3rd party games not selling well on it. It will most likely be the other way around for Sony once they put out the PS4. And you can be sure that Microsoft's next X-Box console would be BC with 360 games.

MS isn't going to drop support for the 360 when it's making them money & that more games keeps coming out for it, just like with the PS2.

i have a ps2 and a ps3 with backwards compatibility so im poed about nothing. but wheres the backwards compatibility for nes catrages. there is none. unless you rebuy your game.

LOL! If you seriously think that Full DD is coming next gen, especially when we're still in a bad recession & that not everyone owns online, you're delusional. Especially when the internet speeds aren't still up to snuff as well as them being costly. Plus there are still other physical formats out there, such as HVD.

Don't compare something running a motorola 68k clocked at 33 mhz or a zilog whatever to today's gen consoles. Last gen consoles were plagued with DRE problems and this gen both 360 and ps3 are plagued with hardware failures due to the use of high lead solders. The 360 breaks early due to the eDram snapping out of place because of the eat (60/70 ºC). Eutectic solder would have solved those problems. But you pay for what you get, you want cheap, you get cheap flasky hardware.

The true backwards compatible, collector friendly platform is the pc.

you dont need to have ems to see that 360 failure rate is fall worse then 360s. So it will be the same in the future.

All the consoles this gen have an expiration date, as they're not solid state hardware. With the heat and all the moving parts, this generation of systems will all break. It's just a matter of when. Fact.

Seeing as Microsoft is planning to support the 360 until around 2015, I don't think there's anything to worry about in that regard. :)

Besides, for all we know, Microsoft could be planning to make the 360's successor fully backward compatible with 360 games.

if the future is all digital, then whatever system is out at the time might give you the opportunity to just download old games, so why even bother keeping old systems around?
