The only things on your list that seem to have any relavance is that fact that it's $200 cheaper than it's closest competitor (that is unless you plan on getting online, then it's $150, minus $50 a year after that.) and it has more games out now than other conlsoles, which isnt saying much because every console out will be on par or above by 2008 and out.

So all you've basically said is...xbox 360 got a jump on the other next generation consoles.  Nothing more.

Clearly there is a lot more to it than a year's head start.

Sony has/had 5 times the install base with the PS2 over the XBox. 

All other things being equal, Sony should sell 5 times the Xbox 360 over comparable time periods.  They both have sold about the same in the first 6 months.

Ipso facto there is a lot more going on than a year's head start....namely the PS3 price point and lack of games.

What we know with certainty is that a huge % of PS2 owners are sitting on the fence and have not yet been motivated to jump into the current generation.

the ads are hardly intrusive. and if you choose to not use xbl then you're the one missing out. it's a great service for a cheap price.

I believe that PSN does not have all the features that XBL has and Xbox 360 owners have been able to download T.V. shows for awhile now.

MGS4 will be good, Killzone 2 is getting too much after having a medicore first game, FF is ok, but I don't know many people that like it and they have too damn many.  All these series with this many games are annoying, for whatever console.

All of you guys make all of your assumptions way to early and have too many flaws.  That's why it's hard to determine all of this.  Unless it has some strong facts behind it, I laugh at most of it.

What makes you so sure the 360 CAN'T do those? An obvious fact would be those two examples are being made exclusivly for the PS3. In the end I believe the 360 CAN do something similar. It isnt like the 360 is a SNES trying to make those kind of games.

First point is wrong. PS3 will always cost more out of the box then the xbox360. Stop adding extra costs. PS3 + House $505,000, please stop its stupid.

Second point again wrong. PSN is not even close at this point, and your hyping future addons that arnt even announced to try to make it sound better. "Microsoft will let you download halo for free soon on live"

first dont understimate MS  and second home and littel big planet they are still on beta stage so its unclear  if they are great or what people say flop :)

i have had both a 360 and i have a ps3 first the online service sucks on 360 and it doesn't have a web browser and even wii has one no wireless Internet built in both ps3 and wii has it crackdown sucks saints row was good for the first hour and a half gears of war sucked so much it wasnt even funny and any one that says it is good is a fanboy thats full of himself so far the halo 3 beta sucks ive played at my friends house and i loved both halo and halo 2 gta 4 hasnt came out yet and its not a exclusive deadrising was fun so im not going to say anything about that their is a reason the ps3 is $200 more first its a cheap blu-ray player also it has six axis which has a lot of good things like the controller is light like crazy and also that fact that our games are on blu-ray disks which have 25-50GB of memory and xbox uses dvds which are around 9GB of memory so pretty soon you will have two disks which sucks and you cant use hd-dvds cause the are not built in so maybe instead of playing just the 360 u should play both (playing a ps3 in a store doesn't count they overheat cause there's no ventilation) than you can have a real say in thisoatts

It's winning because of the head start as someone already stated. The PS3 is actually selling more than 360 was at this point in its existence so the amount of consoles sold can be directly attributed to the head start. Why are you 360 people constantly posting about how superior the 360 is or how it's winning? Who are you trying to convince...us or yourselves.

gears has the worst online community of console gaming. halo 2 comes pretty darn close.

Several people have quoted this yet I wonder how many actually have Xbox Live.  There is 1 box on the dashboard for an "ad".  Only one.

90% of the time this space is filled with an "ad" for an upcoming game (usually an MS studios one), notice of an upcoming tournament or XBL promotion.  About once a month there is a real ad for a movie which is not game related, however it is always accompanied by a free theme/picture pack.

So where are all these mysterious ads you keep speaking of?  The lack of ads is the entire reason it is a paid by subscriber service.
