if you count the year head start and rrod failure rates the 360 lost the gen and the wii won. quality = ps3, library = 360, sales = wii, accessories = ps3, value = ps3 online = ps3 home netflix, facebook...etc overall sales is what matter so people that think the 360 are wrong, ps3 should win though but they don't sell. wedropemnlockem

Yup, lost to the wii a while ago. Of course, it still has games so its all good.

The only thing that matters to Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo is sales. If you fanboys want to argue over exclusives that's fine, but the console war exist between them not you guys. As it stands:

1st - Nintendo
2nd - Microsoft
3rd - Sony

Sony is the biggest lower, because they fell from top position to 3rd. Thats a big fall.

Well, even without RROD/E74/disc scratching problems of the 360, and the year headstart of the 360...Wii still won in sales.8)

Is the race over, no, but Nintendo's got a 20 Million Lead. In fact, the PS3 and 360 added together is the only way the sales race close.

So, Wii wins, Wii Fit wins, sales threads over now?

The 360 vs. PS3 race is Neck and neck, about 5-6 million sales apart. It's much more exciting in the sense that both machines are competing for the same HD customers. One machine (360) had a year headstart and a lower price point, and one machine (PS3) came out one full year late at a super high $600 price point.

All the variables like the full entire year headstart of the 360, and the high, high price of the PS3 resulted in this crazy, tight race, considering the PS3's price point should have killed it. Any other console would have failed coming out so late with such a high price.

The SNES vs. Genesis war was exciting, since that was a close war, and this console sales war is even closer.

That being said, Nintendo's Wii went for the Nongamer/Casual crowd in addition to their loyal crowd, and that was the clear winning strategy. $250 price point, but making a TON of money off each console sold right from the beginning, and keeping that winning price right for three years was a great move for any business.

Instead of arguing who has more quality (Since it varies per user)...I think we all can agree that it's pretty amazing that the PS3 came out a full year later and managed to get that close in AAAA and AAA's.

As a PSWii60 owner, I love all the machines, but back in 2005-2007, no one ever thought such a close race in AAAA/AAA's would ever happen.

Pretty cool that system's can lose a single sales race multiple times before the race is over. Sure, we can all call it early, that's fun, but losing multiple times within the one race, boy that's gotta be extra fail for them.

2008 seems forgotten in SW all to often, and that was the PS3's big turnaround year, starting with AAAAE MGS4, and ending with AAAE LBP and AAAE Resistance 2. 2009 was supposed to be the Wii's turn, but I think that's now 2010. I can't keep up with the predictions all the time.

The 360 and PS3 war is great for gamers, as it gets both sides working harder for us gamers. Still, It won't stop me from playing next year's ALAN WAKE or THE LAST GUARDIAN. I say bring it! :P
