Is there any real use for the elite if you don't have an HDTV? I mean, the 120 gigs doesn't really make a difference when you can stream everything from your PC...

actually in the past few days since the announcement, I've had more people ask about pre-ordering the Elite, than people who actually ask for a PS3...elite is the for the fence sitters and sadly because MS waited so long to annouce the damn thing, we can't take preorders on it ;(

how many of those people were casuals? quite a few, many were on the fencers. most ps3 buyers are kids with money and true blue gamers. most 360 buyers are college kids, casuals who care only for madden and quite a few true blue hardcore gamers. the Wii is the hot property though, everyone still wants one.
People buying the elite are more an likely the ones who purchased the 360's they will probably turn in their premiums. Aint gamestop and microsoft teaming up for something like that anyways.

at the moment no, there are no plans to. elite is appealing more to folks who don't own either system. as for premium people, they seem more interested in the controllers and HD
They should have delayed the announcement in my opinion until at least a week before launch. I don't see any benefit in announcing early. Alleluia_Cone
getting your name in the news buzz about your system news generates intrest gives retailers time to set up and advertise gives MS a month to perform a marketing blitz last time a console just snuck onto the market was the Saturn....yeaah
