Casual gamers won't even know about it.
Nike_Air
casuals wont know... but when they go the store the salesperson will tell them a new one is coming out... and they will think..."100 more gigs for only $80" and they will wait

will a casual know what a gig is? Also, would they be willing to spend that much more?[QUOTE="Nike_Air"]Casual gamers won't even know about it.

causals dont even know what a "gig" is. they buy a core and memory card.
casuals don't even know what it is, let alone when it comes out. If sales are low, it will be because it's in april, A.K.A. no games season.jack_russelactually in the past few days since the announcement, I've had more people ask about pre-ordering the Elite, than people who actually ask for a PS3...elite is the for the fence sitters and sadly because MS waited so long to annouce the damn thing, we can't take preorders on it ;(
people are very intrested in the elite, especially those who were unsure of what to buy.

how many of those people were casuals?[QUOTE="rocktimusprime"]actually in the past few days since the announcement, I've had more people ask about pre-ordering the Elite, than people who actually ask for a PS3...elite is the for the fence sitters and sadly because MS waited so long to annouce the damn thing, we can't take preorders on it ;([QUOTE="jack_russel"]casuals don't even know what it is, let alone when it comes out. how many of those people were casuals? quite a few, many were on the fencers. most ps3 buyers are kids with money and true blue gamers. most 360 buyers are college kids, casuals who care only for madden and quite a few true blue hardcore gamers. the Wii is the hot property though, everyone still wants one.People buying the elite are more an likely the ones who purchased the 360's they will probably turn in their premiums. Aint gamestop and microsoft teaming up for something like that anyways.GoldenEye005at the moment no, there are no plans to. elite is appealing more to folks who don't own either system. as for premium people, they seem more interested in the controllers and HD
elite is ridiculous compared with a ps3. microsoft admits they screwed up by releasing this terrible consolee200dylanwhen did microsoft admit that they released a terrible topic.
They should have delayed the announcement in my opinion until at least a week before launch. I don't see any benefit in announcing early. Alleluia_Conegetting your name in the news buzz about your system news generates intrest gives retailers time to set up and advertise gives MS a month to perform a marketing blitz last time a console just snuck onto the market was the Saturn....yeaah
