Don't know if anyone posted this yet but the 360 oblivion update was available today. It noticably increases draw distance and detail and decreases load times. After playing with this, I noticed no more "pop ins" and the draw distance was much much better. Load times were also down. And I have been playing it a lot lately and so I see the differences

There are still 'pop-ins'. Why lie about that?

Draw distance is the pretty much the same, I didn't really notice any difference.

The objects(stones, bushes etc) and character models(including animals) still fade away when they are about 15-20 meters from you.

The patch made the textures blend smoother in the distance so there's no 'line' dividing the distant low-res textures and close high-res textures.

Actually, I've notice quite a difference with the new patch.  There are a lot more trees, bushes, etc and you see them at a farther distance, making the scenery even more beautiful.  The shading is a bit better, and the detail on some things a bit more crisp.  All in all, very pleased with the update.  Kudos to Bethesda for polishing a year old game when they certainly didn't have to.  Can't wait for Shivering Isles!

Maybe I didn't look around enough... I walked around looking at the environment for 5-10 minutes, checking textures, draw distance etc. before the patch, then did the same after the patch. I didn't see these all these improvements mentioned, only the texture blending, and maybe noise added to the distance textures.

Well I haft to say the PS3 is the clear winner in this one. The graphics are a tad better and the load times are a major plus!
