**360 On Pace to Reach XBOX Sales**

In about 2 and a half years 360 should have reached XBOX sales with roughly 32 million sold consoles, If it continues at its current pace.

So I ask should lems be worried? Can 32 keep them in second place or will they drop to last? Lastly can it pick up steam and end up doubling what the original xbox sold?

*If sales dont matter and you just care about how much fun your having with your system of choice...dont bother posting.

Every system will receive sales boosts with games, and othe stuff. No basic math can tell you how the console war will end up.

Especially considering only one hyped IP exclusive is on the 360 selling it.

Im being a bit generous by calculating it using 12 million sold...even though no site has it close to that number i didnt want lems to go crazy and call me the bias and all that other crap.

i can see it selling alot more than that. it managed to sell close to 10 mill in its first year which isnt bad and only got its first real system seller at the end of it. once it gets its console down to mass market price (around $200usd id say)  then i think we can expect its sales to pick up quite abit.

At the PS3's current pace it looks like it won't even hit 20 million. But we both know it will do well because of upcoming game releases.

I'm not denying halo's selling power.  However, I do know that Halo 2 sold around 8 million, and that I imagine a large chunk of 360 owners bought the console because they new Halo would be on it.

Considering Microsoft still needs to sell more than 8 million to hit the 20 mil' mark, I'm not going to hold my breathe.  But you go right ahead.

You think this is the rate the console will have forever?

It's the same with the PS3 aswell.

The 360's biggest hit game was one that became a hit for the first time as a new game so the 360 really never had a huge hitter grace it's presence since release. Like how big Halo 3 will be along with Gears of War 2 for example and the 360 I expect to get a price drop in maybe 2 years tops if not this year.

If I was MS I would drop the price asap. It's smart business. Dropping the price will make the 360 look ever more cheap with the PS3 20GB gone and closer to the Wii cost. Plus, doing this will most likely force Sony to lower their price before they are ready to which will cripple Sony greatly with them loosing even more money.

And when big games for the PS3 come out and price drops, whenever that will be, it will change it's sales rate easily.

So going based on the rates of early numbers for 1.5 years etc.. makes no sense

I expect PS3 to be the top selling console with 80 million or so, and Wii will be second probably with 40 mil. That's my prediction anyway.

They are at around 9.6 million Sold Atm. Microsoft channel stuffed millions of units to be able to report 10 million shipped. You can see the detials in the fact they only intend to ship 3 million consoles for all of 2007 worldwide.

Really now? They shipped 10 million in January and have sold almost a million in the US alone since then 

Shipped does not equal Sold to consumer. When they claimed over 10 million shipped they were still in the 8 million Sold range

Theres been millions of units sitting in warehouses and stores that had to sell before they ever hit 10 million.
