360 software now a record breaking 5.7 games per unit!!!

Xbox 360 also maintained its record-setting software attach rate for the eighth month in a row at 5.7 games sold per console for the month of March, thanks to the great titles available for the platform, including four of which were among the top 10 best-selling games across all consoles, including "Def Jam Icon" (EA). "Guitar Hero II" (RedOctane/Activision), "Major League Baseball 2K7" (2K Sports) and "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2" (Ubisoft).

We're also excited about the success of "Guitar Hero II" (RedOctane/Activision), which exploded on to the Xbox 360 platform in April selling 291,000 units after only five days on the market; that means nearly 2,500 units per hour were rolling off the store shelves. This made it the number three top-selling game in this period across all consoles. Games like "Guitar Hero II" that were once PlayStation exclusives are now enabling consumers to have more choices when it comes to platform selection, while also broadening our portfolio of games that appeal to customers of all ages.

Does seam that if the Xbox 360 holds up this kinda of attach rate we will see plenty of new games for that system. May be the hardcore bizness model can work. wonder if the hardcore and causel model can co-exsite?Lanfeix

5.7 per console, 5.3 per console, whatever the number is, it's a crazy good attach rate, what devs see is $$$ and what 360 fans get is exclusive defections and more games.

Not when I got mine. And I can say the same for many of the people I know who also own the system.

I know the Costco where I live sells it with PGR3.  Still though, it's still really high.

I just read your other post, its in Canada. I`m in the US...and thats a bundle that cost 500 bucks, the one you guys get for free.

Well at this point in time all of that is true. Still, japanese developer support is likely to put the PS3 as more of a primary console then 360. But then again, who knows what will be happening some years from now.

I've not seen them here in Florida either.  and in reality, the software attach rate for the 360 has been ridiculously high since launch.  last year fanboys were claiming it was a fluke.  that it was just the former xbox owners.  now reality is starting to set in.  the communal experience of 360 gaming prompts people to buy more and more games to continue their social experiences, which by and large are fantastic experiences.

I have 7 games...not including XBLA games...GRAW, GRAW 2, R6:V, Gears of War, GHII, CoD3, and Viva Pinata.jfkunrendered

5 of which are shooters. Way to go MS for appealing to all types of gamers.
