is it really 33%, holy ****, about every 3 out of 10 people have their systems break or something. Slashkice thanks for the help. I'm waiting for the 40GB PS3, i don't need the BC or Memory card readers. the only reason the 360 looks good is cause of the 2 free games, but i guess 2 games arent good when the system breaks down. Thanks again! Found a article

from all the screenshot comparison that i've seen of COD4, i'd say PS3... hands down.
plus you want a better reliability..? definitely go for the PS3
if you get a 360, there's 33% chance that your system might break by the time you purchase a game, then what?
how are you going to play if your 360 breaks?

I'm surprised it'd be so low..
I'd say 9/10 friends of mine who have 360s have had theirs break even once... mine hasn't, fortunately...
Heck, I know people who have had their 360 break 5 times by now... they're fed up with microsoft...
On this topic. 360 if you want better controls, Live is okay. You'd have to pay extra, but, it might be worth it. It's a risk, it depends on who buys CoD4 for the 360. If the kids start buying it, it'll become like Halo 2/3, and you'll lose interest, well, because there will be immature fools online blabbering and trash talking all the time, and half the adults, regardless of the halo reference, will be swearing, but it will probably have more online games...
PS3-- More mature people on all the time, I rarely come across a person I have to tell to shut up because they're being racist or something similiar, or a kid... on either RFOM, or Warhawk. Probably fewer games though.
I'd wait for the review of the game however.. the PS3 version has been rumored to be graphically superior to the 360 version.. I dunno...
360 all the way because think about the new 360's have the new falcon chip so it not goin to break down. and 360 and a way better online and games.. i had the chance to buy and ps3 but i picked a 360 because the games and better hardware the 3 year warrenty they put that because they know that there making a new chip so wen u send ur 360 in ull be gettin that new chip installed.. and the new 360's already have the chip so i would go for the 360. 360 ALL DAY
[QUOTE="SiKh22"]Now I'm days away from purchasing either a PS3 or 360. I know the 360 has had issues since launch, but! what system do you think is more reaible for the future. Not game wise, as most get released multiplatform expect some exclusives. I'm leaning towards the ps3, but i ask you good people since i dont own either system. Thank you, i plan to the system just for COD4. Slashkice
PS3, easily. It has, like what, a failure rate of less than 0.1% compared to the 360's 33%? The three-year warranty keeps you covered but that's no excuse for the system breaking down.
Besides that, the PS3 also has blu-ray, and a harddrive on all sku's. So yeh, it'd be more reliable for the future.
Oh, online is also free, and lag isn't much of a problem, so you should be set for COD4.
 yeah, the 360 has a 33% of failure rate360 all the way because think about the new 360's have the new falcon chip so it not goin to break down. and 360 and a way better online and games.. i had the chance to buy and ps3 but i picked a 360 because the games and better hardware the 3 year warrenty they put that because they know that there making a new chip so wen u send ur 360 in ull be gettin that new chip installed.. and the new 360's already have the chip so i would go for the 360. 360 ALL DAY

No Falcon chips are next years, the currnet 360's just have better ive read but still are breaking. According to Gamepro, sony said it has a failure rate of .02%
http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=129410
And also i saw that article on the CODForums, the PS3 does look better. I guess the ps3 it is! thank you again guys. 33% holllyyy heck.
Well, the 360 had issues with the RROD, but the new 360 is supposed to address that. To be fair to MS, most people have found them easy to deal with on warranty issues...Sony has a rep for being a pain to deal with.
I'd honestly get a 360 at this point. I think both consoles will likely be fine...and if for some reason it isn't, MS is better to work with...as well as having the much better game lineup right now.
Do what you like though.

I've delt with both companies once and they were both great about my issue. Don't make up crap about Sony.
I've called SCEA once and Xbox once and both took care of me the same.

I'm not making up crap. Sony has a well documented history of giving poor service, especially when it comes to warranty issues. Google it if you are uninformed.
Here's what you do to determine which console is best suited for you...
1.) Grab a pen and a few sheets of paper. *this is the oldskool method, and best IMO because you can study it side by side and not get distracted by using something like Wordpad.
2.) First start with X360. Click on Xbox 360 at Gamespot, list all games, then by release date. Make a list of all exclusives that are currently out and coming out. These could be coming out next month or 2 years from now.. doesn't matter. Then do the same for PS3 on another sheet. *this will take some time but if your serious about it then it shouldn't be a problem.
3.) Go through both lists and cross out games that you don't absolutely have to play, or games that you feel could become multiplat later on. I know this is difficult, like using a crystal ball. But use a little common sense. Remember, if you have a strong enough PC.. to consider this as well. Mark these multiplats off the list as well, because the PC is a perfectly viable option unless you absolutely hate gaming with one.
4.) Final step. Go back over your list and put a small checkmark over MUST-HAVE games that are what your despirate for. The checkmarked games aren't playtoys.. their your passion!
Whichever sheet of paper has the least marked out + the highest number of checkmarks wins. This garantees you a good choice. If you realise you made a bad choice 3 years from now.. you certainly gave it your best shot with your hard earned money and remember.. nothing in life is garanteed. NOTHING!
The bonus of doing this method- As you get your new console and anxiously await for these exclusive games.. you'll benefit from the mulitiplats that you would have never played before. Given they could be better or worse.. but it doesn't matter TO YOU because you already made the best choice for the future.
If this sounds too complicated or stupid to you.. then just ignore it. But it works for me.
360 has as much reliabilty as trying to stop a train with ur handdeadmeat59
Yeah but..... Superman can do it!

first of all, the TC didnt ask about which system has better games or not. second, there is no way you could ever say that the xbox has better hardware than the PS3. third, and im actually wondering what age you are because you sound awfully like one of them things... i think they are called fanboys>>????!!!!!!!!!!
Dont ask system wars dude. Too many fanboys. I suggest the xbox 360 for now though since it has most of the games and live. Dont get to worried about the faliure rate its blown way out of proportion. Plus you have a 3 year warranty if anything does happen.CrimsonBlade360
yea hes right too many fanboys LOL
