i am not a fanboy of any console.this generation of gaming consoles will come to an end in another 2 years or so and we know that there is nothing to wait for now.we have atleast 500 great games out there from the past 5 years and its time to game them if we havent till now.i believe this thread is to help those who want to buy a new console and dont knw which to decide',hence i would appreciate it if those who post in this thread follow the following rules-
1.by gamers having both consoles,or have had experience with both consoles
2.see every factor-now that we know the new consoles in the market dont have any hardware or technical issues, lets be real
3.online gaming and market
4.accessories also to be considered-controllers,cables,battery kits,
5.pricing
6.game availability and variety
7.we dont want any big hardware pro's in here to tell us which console has a better cpu or graphics unit, games should look rocking on the hd tv,thats it.
8.people with atleast a gamespot ranking of level 15 or above are welcome to post-so we know that they have been gaming for a while.yes,we know a lot of veteran gamers are out there who werent gamespot members, but excuse, coz we need a measure of some sort.
9.this is strictly a thread to help others,so the dumb fanboys pls keep out.
kuvze
1. I've had experience on both consoles before.
2. The new consoles on the market do have hardware or technical issues! Only fanboys deny this. With that said: Xbox 360 Hardware failures are worse and more frequent than PS3 hardware failures.
3. XBL > PSN. Value wise, XBL is not worth it for the what they are offering! Microsoft should of made the core gaming free, everything else (which can be considered a premium) could have a price. Basicaly what Sony is doing with PSN. The community for XBL owns the community for PSN; this is most likely due to the fact that the majority of them have head sets!
4. Pricing for controllers for both consoles are ****. Not being a fanboy, but accessories for the Xbox 360 are even worse. Especially when some of them should come included in the intial cost. Nothing wrong with having to have to buy batteries for the 360 controller. Though that doesn't mean that it is better than the PS3 controller. For all the pros and cons a good source would be jon4lakers (i think that was the name) on Youtube. He did a comparison, and if i remember properly, it was a draw! Because both controllers had pros and cons which cancelled each other out. HDMI cables should be coming standard with each console as well. Poor part by both Microsoft and Sony.
5. Pricing for the intial console can mean different things. I have no problem paying for expensive items. But VALUE is a different topic on its own. The PS3, for its price, has a better value. Yes, it can do more than game - which a lot of people will think is useless. But would you rather spend maybe $50 less and not be able to go on a [alright] web-browser, play blu-ray movies, etc. It's just better value. That isn't to mean that the Xbox 360 doesn't have a whole lot of other features as well. But non of them are as big as having an in-built blu-ray player. Especially when PSN most likely offers the same type of features as well.
6. At this point in time, both consoles have a large variety of games [both great and terrible]. I have enjoyed, and im looking forward to, games on both consoles. So this is entirely up to the consumer. Both consoles have great looking games. With, at the moment, Uncharted 2 being "console graphics king" though I am expecting that to change in 2010. Alan Wake is my bet on next console graphics king. Going back and forth from the two consoles.
7. I ain't going to talk about that. Because, in general, why would you care which one has the better GPU and CPU for a console? The graphics on either console isn't going to jump dramatically like the PC. Not only that but most people, casual people which are the majority of us in the world, care about what they see. I know that Uncharted 2 looks better than Halo. Even if the Xbox 360 has a better GPU. Heck, Uncharted 2 looks better than MW2. At least from what I could tell. Though I havn't done a side by side comparison. With that said, deciding which game looks better IS NOT opinion (to those who think that). I ask, is Crysis not better looking that Uncharted 2? You can't argue otherwise with it.
8. I'm rank...well ive forgotten...but 20 something. :)
9. I don't think I have been a fanboy with my post. I also think I have been as factual as possible.
Can't believe that you didn't include the Wii or the PC. But I guess it's because the PS3 and Xbox 360 are bigger rivals. Both in business and in System Wars.
