If Sony doesn't come through by the Holiday season I still wouldn't buy a 360 just because I've read the Broken 360 thread (that is sad in it of itself) and it seems like MS could give a crap about people's 360s breaking. Anything after 90 days and you have to pay? That bites. If Sony's system is a bust (which KillZone will show us all) then I'm getting a Wii. That's right...a Wii. I'd rather break stuff in my home than have my console break.

I've had my 360 for about 16 months and it's fine, I wouldn't let the stories put you off from buying a good console.

Actually, everyone I know whose 360s have broken had their 360 fixed free of charge by Microsoft. But then again that was back at launch. Faulty systems are never a reason not to get a system especially with warranties as long as they are now. Personally, I have a launch 360, and I've never had any trouble with it.

I have a launch 360, absolutely no problems with it. The majority are not faulty they just have a poor cooling system, which means as long as you don't a) put it in enclosed places, b) wrap a blanket around it or c) put it beside a fire to keep it warm you shouldn't have any problems. Besides the new chipset MS is bringing out is supposed to fix all the overheating problems.

LOL.........this is like saying my new car would own if I could drive it......

Doesn't really "own" anything if it doesn't work.

Get the Best Buy warranty. Costs $60 but protects you for two years. And instead of shipping it in, waiting for it, opening it back up to see you have a refurbished unit, and then plugging in someone else's damaged but repaired unit, all you need to do is box up your defective unit, carry it over to the local Best Buy, and walk out with a brand new unit. Worked well for me.

Did BB question you at all about your return??.

Because my 360 is like "dying" basically, as it freezes all the time and is having some bad framerate issues in games that I am now  going back and playing and have never had issues with when I plaeyd them before.  ALso it has cracked one of my discs

I want to take it to BB with the warranty and pay the extra $80 and get an Elite when it comes out

Yeah they did but I had the red ring so if they decided to verify it, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been a problem. Even with freezing, I'm sure you could make a good argument. You paid $400 and the system is at most 18 months old. It's not supposed to constantly freeze. If they give you back the full credit, it would definitely be an awesome idea to pay $80 and upgrade to the Elite. Don't forget to rebuy the warranty for that unit. :D

Heh. I saw the three red lights today. I'd like to congratulate Microsoft on their pathetic excuse for a games console. Sure it has amazing games, but that's of little consolation to me at the moment.
