they'll buy it and say that they wanted better technology...duh...then when PC users laugh at them for having to buy a new console every 3-4 years they will say you have to upgrade every year lolz

Lol I though I clicked on system wars, not the special ed forum. Why would they release a new xbox with the success that this one is having? Think about it. Also, even if they did announce it tomorrow, it wouldn't come out until probably 2010 unless they started making it just after the 360 launched.

2011 or 2013.

I don't think MS will be releasing a new Xbox platform too soon. Xbox 360 is in for the long run. MS is not making another mistake by rushing out the gates and making another piss poor breakable hardware.

The way I see it, MS will simply enjoy and milk out the 360 for the long run of this generation, until 2013 (hopefully) and then by learning from thier "rush out the gate" mistake, release a proper, unbreakable new Xbox platform.

Of course they're okay with it. They can't possible afford a $600 console to last at least 7 years. But they can afford to pay $400 every four years.

I have a grand tied up in my 360 and PS3 right now and that's not counting the software so I say hurry up and bring out something else to buy. If it looks worth it I'll buy it too.

I can't afford $600? I guess that's why I bought both a Wii, 360, and a ****load of 360 games that equal up to way more than $600, right? Oh, and it's so great that you know exactly when the next XBox is coming out, even though you know, noone else does. :roll:

3 years? Did you fail math courses or what? The PS2 came out only 5 years after the PS1, and the Gamecube only 5 after the N64. The 360 came out a year before the competition, just like the PS2 did. So the **** what? If this is an attempt to claim ownage, you're failing miserably.

The only major $600 console in a decade has been the PS3. That's one console. It's much less of a hassle than investing hundreds or thousands in new PC hardware, then going through the annoying process of physically installing it or putting it together, then wasting hours messing with drivers, patches and other updates. I have no problem buying a $200-$400 console every half decade, give or take a year. If Microsoft's next console has a promising line up as this one, I'll buy it. My 360 was worth every penny.

360 is about options, especially when it comes to HD movies. The only real big deal is HDMI. If you want to actually watch HD-DVD's, you'll buy something seperate. If you want more HDD space, you can buy something seperate. Even though it's a pain in the rear to transfer your save files over, the Elite isn't such an improvement that you get uber-pissed for already buying a core or premium. A new console in two years though..that's not cemented in stone. Just because 360 launched 4 years after the XBox doesn't mean the next XB will also launch in two years. It's way too early so see how long the 360 will be supported. If MS can get the dev support they have with the 360 and bring that over to a new console, and if the console is significantly more powerful than the 360(meaning games looking like 2-3x better than Crysis), and if the launch line-up is as good as the 360's, then yeah, I wouldn't mind buying a new XBox in 2009.

no new xbox in 2 years :roll:

also how were people pissed at the elite...new features, what remake of a console doesn't.

PS2;

Slimmer, built in internet, better DVD playback.

DS light;

Better sound, smaller, longer battery and brighter screens.

Elite;

Bigger HDD, and a HDMI port....

So urm, whats the point...

No, I won't buy PS4 in 2009.

http://www.destructoid.com/peter-moore-new-xbox-360-in-five-years-30388.phtml

In an interview with Peter Moore, EGM grilled him about when the next one would come out, and questions about if they'd drop the X360 like a box of rocks like they did with the 360. He said that they were going to support it "as long as it sold" which is BS, because the Xbox sold well into this year despite no producting after Oct. 2005.

At any rate, he stated the production team from the 360 is working on the next Xbox, and their looking into what kind of CPUs will be available on the market in 2011-2012....

They dropped the old Xbox because they had to buy chips from Intel and Nvidia instead of manufacturing them themselves, and of course the one year head start.Next generationSony will launch first :D

If that's the case, I'll say "no thank you" and just stick to my 7-8 year life span on my PS3.

If the 360 doesn't outlive the Wii, then there's a problem.
