I ask this because so many people think this is a minor issue...but I think MS saw this one coming out the door. If you remove the faceplate from your 360 you will see on the top a slot just larger enough for a coat hanger/pointy object to be inserted and force the tray open.
Point is...there is no such peripheral sold with the Xbox 360 to use in this prying...no set guideline...just wedge it open. I had my tray stop working and was told if I didnt want to pay the refurbishing fee this was my option..to pry it open.
This in tandem with so many other problems with the Xbox 360 leads me to believe that the console was literally built with breaking in mind. (i know products break but the idea is to build a product that doesn't. Wii and PS3 are fine. I can leave my PS3 on folding for days straight.) Don't get me wrong....I use to own and love it...but that was right b4 the new warranty announcement...the I personally believe the new line of "Chips" will secretly also be a MASSIVE reconfiguration and hardware issue resolving attempt. I think they will do it under that guise so as to avoid teh uber fansuit.
Thought?
