So out of nowhere, Nintendo has decided to reveal all the ten GBA games that they will be offering to us early adopters for screwing us over, I mean, as a token of appreciation for our unwavering loyalty.

The games list is incredible, and as far as I am concerned, makes up for te entire debacle.

Ten games will be available to us all:

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Wario Land 4
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Mario Kart: Super Curcuit
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Metroid Fusion
Mario vs Donkey Kong
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Warioware Inc.,: Mega Microgames

All ten of these games will be available to download freeon the eShop starting December 16.

That is one hell of a list, and according to popular opinion, it also represents which franchises Nintendo will push on the 3DS. Which means I'm very happy to see F-Zero and Fire Emblem on there. No Golden Sun, Advance Wars or Mario and Luigi is a bummer, and I wish there had been a Pokemon game, but Minish Cap! Seriously... MINISH F***ING CAP!!!

Just switch on your 3DS, it's a SpotPass notification straight from Nintendo themselves :P But if you want a link, here you go, good sir!

Nope, the Ambassadors Program was only for those people who bought the 3DS before its price dropped on August 11 (though some people were able to buy it at a reduced price from Walmart, and STILL take advantage of the Ambassador Program). And yes, Nintendo owns and makes Fire Emblem.

Welp, looks like 3DS users will already have the best two 2D Zeldas once Minish Cap comes out.

So am I, and this gives me hope for the upcoming 3DS game's localization.

I don't think A Link to the Past is available on the 3DS yet.

Jolt_counter119
Nope. As per Nintendo, they have no plans to make them available to the general public, though I am sure they will eventually release them anyway. End 2012/early 2013.

Why Sacred Stones? That's easily one of the worst Fire Emblem games out there. (It's still good but why not FE7/Fire Emblem?)

That's not a terrible list though.

I think they chose Sacred Stones because it literally has nothing to do with the other games in the series, so it should be something everyone can enjoy regardless of their level of familiarity with the franchise.

They are still releasing GB/GBC/3D classics and I think the next system they will add is NES before finally getting to GBA. The 2012 3DS retail games lineup is crazy so I wouldn't expect GBA until 2013.

This still isn't good enough, Nintendo!

I demand my $80 back, ALL these free games, a voucher for two FREE 3DS games of my choice and an apology letter from Mr. Iwata himself.

Anything less than that is an insult!

I actually go 4 games from Sony, 2 ps3 2psp. The nes games from Nintendo (I think it was nes lol) is pretty crap tbh but I'm certainly jelly about the gba games, have you seen GBA prices, they're still expensive as hell.

F GBA. There should be snes games. A Yoshis Island remake? Those remakes are lackluster versions of the original ones.

Hey man, I understand, I've been there. I was once in the same exact shoes you were in and was in denial about there being a better 2D Zelda than Link to the Past. I refused to believe the thought of such a thing happening, it gave me chills down my spine, but then I played Link's Awakening DX and Minish Cap then went back to LTTP. It was undeniable that this has been surpassed already. It's okay if you continue to choose to blue pill for now, but one day you will get tired of that same ol blue pill and try out the red pill and your entire thoughts of LTTP will be changed.

I just played ALttP, actually. Over the summer, I played ALttP followed immediately by Link's Awakening. Now Link's Awakening is an awesome game, but damn is ALttP in an entirely different class. Minish Cap, I can see if someone argues that it is better. Somewhat. Except for that it's not, but whatever, people are entitled to their opinions, even when said opinions are horribly, horribly wrong.

I don't think that comic was trying to be accurate. :P

Sony only gave me the choice of 2 out of the 5 PS3 games they had to offer, after losing my important personal information... while nintendo is giving me 20 free games just because they dropped the system's price by $80, after I bought it out of my own free will.

And yeah, most of the NES games were forgettable, but the GBA games make up for them quite nicely.

I could form a good reason why I prefer Minish Cap and Link's Awakening over AlttP but I haven't had sleep in about 32 hours so I wouldn't be able to gather thoughts well lol.

I honestly don't think there will be a Pokemon Grey. For starters, there is no way to meaningfully expand Pokemon Black/White, so what would they release Grey for? Secondly, the third versions are always expansions, they always use the same assets and all that, and I don't think they would want to re-release a glorified Pokemon Black/White- a DS game- as a 3DS game. Releasing it as a DS game would be suicide. I think we're moving straight to Ruby/Sapphire remakes.

Except for that it's not, but whatever, people are entitled to their opinions, even when said opinions are horribly, horribly wrong.

I think Minish Cap is the most overrated one, at least around this part of town. It is FAR too linear, closed off, and "directed". It really lacks the adventure aspect that both Lttp and Links Awakening both had. Lttp is just on a whole different level. Not one aspect of that game suffers. I have older friends, and ones that are much younger. I was surprised to hear from the younger group how great they think the game is. I'm talking "raised on ps2" young, meaning their exposure to traditional 2D games took place after becoming accustomed to 3D. LTTP is a classic in every sense of the word.

And, yes, I did say "F GBA." You took it a bit out of context though:). I meant it in the form of, give me GBA games, but please do not give me downgraded ports from snes games.

Personally, I absolutely love Minish Cap, and find it to be the true spiritual successor to A Link to the Past that we never got. I love its charm, I love its music, it introduced some of the best items to the series, the characterization was great, the dialog was sharp, and the dungeon design was freaking devilish. The only complaint I had with it was that it was too short. However, it has been a long while since I played it... who knows how I will find it today? I was very young when I first played it, maybe I'll find it more linear this time, like you did.

And oh :P

Ordinarily, I would agree with you, BUT the GBA versions of ALttP and FF IV-VI are all superior to their SNES counterparts. That is all :P

As far as I know, it has nothing to do with any of the other games

Start either with the DS game, or the GBA game that you are getting. The GBA game was specifically made as an entry point for people unfamiliar with the series, so I;d say just wait a couple of days, download it and play it. You're in for a treat :)

Are the console ones worth it?

Eh. Not really. The Wii one was underrated here at Gamespot, and the Gamecube one was fun, but honestly, you want to stick to the handheld games.

See I felt the opposite about Minish Cap. Upon first booting it up it felt like zelda because of the music, or classic zelda, I should say. But then when you divulge into the game it tends to feel like it is on-rails. Similar to Spirit Tracks, though to a much lesser extent. The game is also incredibly easy because of its overly directed nature. On the subjectional side, I just didn't care for the villian, either. The music was great, though.

Also, the GBA ports are NOT superior. The games don't play as well and the FoV has been slightly cropped. The Super Mario World port is mostly effected by this, plus they just don't scroll as nice.

thats nice a lineup fire emblem tss is fun one, yoshi island awesome, mario kart very nice

can i still be a 3ds ambassador if i buy one this week?

and how is nintendo payin for this did they make fire emblem?

charizard1605

Nope, the Ambassadors Program was only for those people who bought the 3DS before its price dropped on August 11 (though some people were able to buy it at a reduced price from Walmart, and STILL take advantage of the Ambassador Program). And yes, Nintendo owns and makes Fire Emblem.

I told my brother about that, and he bought it the day before it ended for $170 :P

Great, thanks. Btw, haven't played Professor Layton still. :P
