I am. I expected much more. Yes it was just put up, but I expected things to be better prepared especially considering the delay. If we're just going to be getting one GB game a week, that is a little disheartening. It was a key selling point for me, and we are getting next to nothing. I get the feeling Nintendo is trying to bait all the 3DS owners into buying whatever is available.

Extremely dissapointed...they waited MONTHS to release a shop with a few games and some E3 videos? Plus the games are trash...I dont want to play GB games, give me something a LITTLE more recent in SNES at least.

It DID just launch (I do not own one), but I agree with you. That said, shouldn't they have been better prepared for retail games at launch? But at least the lineup is now a great one and many titles are coming soon.

I'm not disappointed.

I picked up The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Plants vs Zombies and Shantae: Risky's Revenge - I've never played any of them before. On top of that I got what I wanted, I wanted 3D trailers of upcoming 3DS games.

I haven't really looked at it yet, other than excitebike. I'm not overly worried though - hopefully Nintendo finally sort their online store out :| Is Zelda: Four Swords free?

actually it looked cool at E3, but then when all the information started coming out it was disappointing like low battery life, no second analog stick etc. not to mention the 3D has pretty much become a gimmick

I like it so far. It definitely could have more content, and it may be a little overpriced, but we did get 2 free apps, and I bought Links Awakening which is quite fun. I dont know how much and what kind of content people were expecting immediately at launch, but I think we should give them a little more time than a few days to make a judgement. Hopefully, they will start releasing multiple games a week soon.

From experience, if you're playing away from home - turn 3D off...really saves battery life. And 3D effect is brilliant, OoT showcases it beautifully.

It's still early on, hopefully Nintendo will make the most of it, although I'm skeptical.

Can't be disappointed in something I didn't expect to be good in the first place. Nintendo has always had a poor track record with anything having to do with the internet.

No, it's really just his premature opinion. Not really a knock on the system.

The E-shop just launched. Anybody expecting it to be filled with content right now are not being realistic.

Opinion shared by quite a few actual 3DS owners in this very thread, but ok? I will take their word for it that it's not good and if I ever were to get a 3DS, not to expect much, if anything from the store.

It's really hilarious to see all the double standards against the 3DS.

With other systems, people just take it for granted that launch line up will be poor, services won't be completely fleshed out on day 1. Yet when it comes to the 3DS, it has to be all things to all people right away. It's ridiculous.

Building up a library, both in the E-shop and not in the E-shop, is going to take some time.By the end of the year, the software library will be more than solid and E-shop should be improving.

People are just being so unrealistic about the 3DS it's ridiculous.

Not at all.

Excitebike 3D is really great looking. It has me super pumped for the remade classics. Great to get it and the pokedex for free. With the pokedex updating once daily, it always gives me a reason to turn on the 3ds(not to mention my free DOA costumes).

I also picked up Links Awakening, Donkey Kong and Mario Land from the VC and they all look great and run great imo. They work really really well in fact. You can exit the game and reboot it and you'll be in the same spot. Not to mention they have a save state feature, which is basically quick save. And we all know how helpful quick saves can be.

Then there is the DSi ware, something i avoided. Shantae's revenge was my first purchase, and it's great so far.

The 3D videos were really cool. They showed us what the games will actually look like on the 3ds screen, and they look really great. Not to mention there was the 3d trailer for green lantern, which looked surprisingly good on the 3ds.

I agree that there could've been more features and i wish they'd have revealed their plans for future 3d classics or even just 3ds ware. But, for a start, i am incredibly happy and satisfied.

It was just launched about a week ago. Getting a bunch of compelling software on there is going to take some time.

If pickings are still slim by the end of year/beginning of the next year, then maybe it might be a "knock against the system", but right now what you are seeing is a shop that just launched.

I'm more than willing to admit that the 3DS is not perfect, but to act like the E-shop needs to be amazing a week or so after launch is just ridiculous.

The 3DS is a huge disappointment to me so far, the 3D hurts my eyes and drains the battery so fast, the E-Shop isn't that great like TC points out, it's overpriced for the tech IMO, and there's barely any games for it. I was looking forward to it, but Nintendo really dropped the ball on it.

I really wish the Wiiware store would get some demos too. Is it disk space they are worried about? Even if they don't have demos to every game, some 1st party AAA titles would be nice.

Maybe they did rush the system out, but getting into the market first is going to give them a good advantage, and it's not like 3DS's are RRODing.

Unless you owna 3DS, you don't have a good perspective of what it is now.

I, on the other hand, have experienced the e-shop and there's nothing about it that seems badly prepared. It simply doesn't have too much content right now because it just launched. The Virtual Console or Wii had to start somewhere as well. As far as I know, t didn't launch with all that content on it.

And it's not like there's NOTHING worthwhile on there. It's just not this amazing service that some people were expecting for who knows what reason.

We can't really know if they dropped the ball right now. After all, people were saying the same things about the DS early in its lifespan, and lo and behold, it's library is now amazing!

The e-shop is not going to be amazing a week or two after launch. What in the world do you expect at this date?

Way too early to be disappointing. It launched with every dsi downloadable title plus Excitebike for free and a bunch of good Gameboy games - sounds like a fine start to me.

You seem to sum it up the best, so I'll take that as what it's like. What I"m getting from you is there is not much there since it just launched any hopefully by the end of the year there will be more. The TC wished there was more software available, which is spot on? How are download speeds?

I would say download speeds are pretty good. Links Awakening was LITERALLY 5 seconds. The demo videos were more like 5 minutes.

Well I'm not thrilled by it... oh what the hell yes, I am disappointed. I won't be seeing the eShop for a while though, gonna go to my parents house and there's no WiFi there. When I get back I hope they have made some progress with the virtual console at least. Oh and the E3 videos better be there as well.

Don't tell me you were expecting two $20 games over the delay. :P

As for the lack of content as far as VC/3DSiWare goes, I'm not really bothered by it. Is it really goading people into buying whatever's available or is it spacing to prevent information overload and giving people a chance every week to take a look at what's new?

[QUOTE="Heil68"]Another knock on the system? They just keep adding up. GreySeal9

No, it's really just his premature opinion. Not really a knock on the system.

The E-shop just launched. Anybody expecting it to be filled with content right now are not being realistic.

It did just launch, but it was delayed. Not only that, but I feel the content that IS there is rather half-a$$ed. 2D Screenshots of upcoming games? Now I don't really care one way or the other, but considering the name of the system is 3DS, that is rather ironic. I did rather enjoy the 3D E3 vids--I would have liked to have seen more of that. Those actually gave me faith in the future of the hardware.

Believe it or not, I'm actualy a rather happy 3DS owner and generally defend the system on this board. I'm just not blind to the faults of the system at the moment. I didn't think the launch lineup was that bad either. No demos of current games? Not even videos? I'm happy with the games I have, but I would be more willing to buy more of whats out if I could see it in motion or actually play it. It's almost as if nintendo doesn't even have faith in some of the software that is out.

They have to have a few titles at a time or else they will have nothing to release after like a year or two. The Wii added a lot of the good games early on and had multiple each week. The result? Nothing worth adding for years, its been dead since 2009/2010.
