3DS successor: yay or nay for the 3D?

Allow me to speak for most people, and state a massive "**** NO".

I turn it off every single time, except for out of curiosity/novelty (or in spots where the game requires it), and I still turn it off after a few minutes. It almost NEVER works properly, and when it does work, the "effect" is so unimportant that it doesnt make up for cutting half of the game's resolution on a screen/console that is already SORELY outclassed in resolution by most smartphones that came out after 2010.

No, it's a waste of money.

No demand for 3D other than IMAX because of the experience being different and convenient.

I love the 3D on the 3DS. It's not flawless at all, but it does what it sets out to do. And I do like being able to see 3D without glasses.

I used it a bunch on the 3DS XL and I use it even more on my new 3DS.

Just as I like the dual screens returning (with the top one now being wider in aspect ratio) I would love to see the 3D returning and be made even better.

People worrying about resolution: handhelds don't need very high resolutions anyway. On phones having gigantic resolutions on a tiny screen is great sure, but for me the 3DS XL resolution is still perfectly fine :P

No. I always have the 3D turned off for every game I play. The last time I did was for Bravely Default. It just hurts my eyes and head after about 5 minutes.

I like the 3D, but its not necessary.

Unless Nintendo can create a game which utilizes the feature into something past the point of superficial, "that's nifty" novelty (say, by creating a puzzle game whose core gameplay and success lies contingent upon the tech), it's as relevant as window dressing to me. That is to say....not relevant at all. People want to accredit Nintendo to being so gameplay focused above all other developers? Well, 3D has not proven to me that its inclusion goes towards emboldening that sentiment.

If it keeps the price of the system down, drop it. It's a feature I can live without for sure.

I hardly ever use it but I don't hate it. The 3d just isn't great on the original 3ds which is what I have. If it were better I'd probably use it more, but I'm not willing to put down the money for a N3ds xl for improved 3d right now.

3D isn't going to make or break a system for me, but I'd rather have it than not.

I say ditch it. It was a nice gimmick for a few games like Super Mario 3D Land, but pretty pointless overall.

Ironically I'd say Nintendo should take a page from Sony's book in this regard (lolvita) and actually support cross platform purchases.

3D is fantastic feature, I love it and it would be really nice to have it but I´m not going to cry if it´s not there, what makes me scratch my head is why Nintendo continues to have that stupid dual screen, you don´t need it for most games.

But et's be honest, it's nothing more than a gimmick. And doesn't really bring any new gameplay elements to table...

I like it alot and don't even have the new model. It's better then 3d in movies imo.

Well, if it's not going to affect the screen in any way then why not? I'm probably going to use it only when there's a cinematic.

@Gaming-Planet: When the 3DS was released the 3D trend come back again. Everything was 3D for like a good 2 years. Ex. 3D tvs. It is a gimmick, sign of the time, and shows the 3DS's age at this point.

If they ditch 3d you know they'll add something else. I hope they do and put the money to a proper screen resolution, cause the 3DS screens look like garbage.

Scrap the 3D. I never use it.

3D is just another crappy gimmick. Kill it :)
