Actually lots of people still do. Only angry sheep and a few lemmings. Most people have gotten over the big sales trend. Two weeks ago 90% of the topics on the first page were about sales. How come everyone who starts these threads seems to forget that over 1 million of those are either in Europe or on the way to Europe and cant be bought yet?
So if that's accurate (which I doubt) 4 million - 1.88 ----------- 2.12 million not spoken for. - 1 million (EU launch systems) -------- 1.12 million not spoken for. So... 1.12 million are not purchased in accordance to that site. Given that it can take up to 6 weeks for delivery, god only knows how many of the 1.12 million are still in transit. So I'm really not too worried. Sounds to me like you're trying to make a mountain of a mole hill.
People will like talking about sales if it means something. Sheep will because it means that maybe nintendo has finally become completely mainstream again, and not just a niche system for nintendo loyalists and kids. I'm a sheep and I'll admit that the sales for the wii give some hope. Sales lead to the best games coming to that system. Not right now, necessarily, but in the future. So talking about sales is okay, and it gives something to write about while the games are slowing a bit for all systems.
i was at best buy the other day and they had 22 (yes i counted) PS3s (the $600 no $500). that is not the only place i have seen ps3s stacked up so i dont think its really a transit issue.
vgcharts is not a bad reference (at least compared to other sources like nextgenwars), but you need to take into account that they're kinda slow because they actually wait for reliable sources like NPD to release the data...

I was at Best Buy and Gamestop today saw two huge stacks of them at Best Buy and Gamestop said they had several in stock. At both stores the employees mentioned there was not high demand for the PS3 anymore, which is surprising simply because I thought people would continue to gobble it up for another month or so. Hopefully, the PS3 picks up steam sometime soon!
