40 Gig PS3 - Buy or Pass

I've been on the fence for the 360 or PS3, but the price drop REALLY helps. My intire house runs on Wi-Fi, there is no way for me to have a system online through cable. And the 40GB has Wi-Fi built in... so let me do the math.

360 Pro 20GB ($350)+ Wireless adapter ($100) +Orange Box ($60) + 1 year XBL ($50) = $560

PS3 40GB ($400)+ Wi-Fi (built in) + Orange box ($60) + PSN Home (Free) = $460

Simple math, and with the extra money, I can buy more games.

The cell phone game is in development yes, but rumors are starting to circulate that there is a true Parasite Eve game coming to next gen consoles as well.

Pass on the 40GB version. Pay $100 more and get the premium 80GB HDD, B/C, memory slots, a free game, and extra usb ports.

I saw that (besides no BC)they took out the memory card reader. What does that mean. Does that mean I can't save anything to a memory card - If I get a PS3 and my friend does too, I won't be able to take game saves or rosters over to his place?

no they are just for a camera card to veiw pics faster then usb= not needed.

but if you want that featureyou can getbuy a adapter for less then $10.

If you've been waiting this long...now's the time. Sony's really stepping up. I'll end up buying it as well, but I'd like to have a rumble controller as well on my first day...so I'll wait JUST a bit.

Big time pass. You can get a 8800 gts for like $330 AR. Or a 2900 pro for $260!! flash to xt and you are set. And soon, NVIDIA and ATI will release their new cards!!! 8800GT, which almost matched a GTX on 3Dmarks06 and Ati 2950 pro, both for $260ea. No brainier, 10x better technology. Pos3 not worth it, wait till 09
