Game Mania, a large Belgium Gameshop, recently announced that the PS3 (40GB) does extremely well in Belgium.

It seems however that this version has some defects. Certain Blu ray movies and certain games are not working on it.

They lock or the PS3 isn't even able to read them at all.

More than 40% of all Ps3's sold in Belgium (bought by Game Mania) are returned. There is not much known about the exact numers.

But Game Mania is the biggest seller of game hard- and software, so it's a large number for sure.

That's just the 40gb model and I'm sure they'll either get their money back instantly orget a 80gb instead. They wont have to mail it in and wait 2 weeks like I did with my 360.

It is interesting to note that 'certain' games and 'certain' blu ray movies don't work.

Could it be that they(consumers) are putting in PS2 titles?????

If you buy the Core 360 you do have to get a HDD...so...you pretty much do.

But looking at your sig u have a 360 and a PS3...probably a premium and 60GB...so your all set.

Let me get this straight. Some people say that the 360 is defective and Cows come out of the woodwork saying stupid things like 85% worldwide are doomed to RROD (check this very thread for Cows saying this)... and blame Microsoft for building a crappy console.

Now a Belgian retailer says 40% of the 40gigs they've sold are defective and Cows are coming out and calling the people that bought PS3s retards that don't know how to load a game. Nice.

There is NOTHING to indicate that they're loading PS2 games...the story mentions 'certain'games and'certain' Blu-Ray movies. Giving these PS3 buyers the benefit of the doubt that they can read the box and that the retailer would've tested it upon return to try to fix the problem rather than taking a return, there *MIGHT* be a defective model.
