$400 PS3 and $350 PS3

We all know that the 40GB $400 PS3 is going to eventually come. One thing I think people haven't realized is certain stores such as GameStop still have the 20GB PS3 for sale for $450. If the $400 PS3 comes than I'm sure GameStop will lower the 20GB model to $350. So if I am right and you don't currently have a PS3 but want a cheap one, wait till the $400 one is out and than buy the 20GB model.

they still play the same games. they just have a 20GB HDD like th premium 360 and no Wi-Fi like the 360. why arent they worth buying?

That was the only model I ever considered buying. I don't need the wireless or the multi-card reader. I was really surprised when they discontinued it.

I Agree with nivet i already used 6 gigs on my 80 gig ... no point of having a 20 gig... unless you going to upgradeHitamaru-homia

hmm this system sounds like the 360... but its PS3 so its better, blu-ray, free online, very powerful hardware, etc.

agreed. Sony should have never discontinued the 20GB version. If they hadn't, they could have 20GB at $350, 40GB at $400, and 80GB at $500 (after the 60GB model depletes). They would have been much more competitive with the 360 price-wise this way.

because it was selling so bad that Sony had to stop the production of it. Stores like Best Buy wouldn't even take them anymore. So I don't think Sony can/will drop the price of it and it would probably be up to the store that sells it.

The PS3 installs game on the HDD, so the load times are sped up, therefore it's taking up a lot of space. My PS3 has about 8 or 9 gb used up (I'll have to go check), while I've only used 2 or 3 on my 360.

Furthermore, I don't see why Sony would come out with a $400 PS3. I mean, sure, it'll sell well, but they're losing money on the current price points, why would they drop the PS3 price and lose more money? What if the $400 didn't sell well? They would just keep losing money, and then what would Sony do then? Raise the price back up?

I'm not saying $400 would be bad for the consumer, tha'd be great, but it just may end up hurting Sony depending on how the sales go. And don't say that it will sell much much better, because there's still the possibility of it not.

I'm just looking at all the aspects of this. Chances are it will sell better, but it may not.

Furthermore, I don't see why Sony would come out with a $400 PS3.

i mean there is proof of a 40gb ps3...and that was part of the whole rumor from the start...who knows maybe sonys big announcment will be the one
