42 inch hdtv or 27 inch pc monitor?

Which is the best gaming option for both playing pc and an xbox 360.

The hdtv is 42 inch plasma panasonic 42g10 with a seating distance of 3 meters

and the monitor is aDell UtraSharp U2711 with a seating distance of 1 meter.

Get the monitor if you're going to be using your PC. My HDTV is for movies/TV and consoles, not for my PC. Your call though.

i use my 46" samsung HDTV as my PC monitor runs at 1920x1080 and looks amazing.
