Seeing as this is System Wars, let's have a system war.
$479 360 Elite versus $599 PS3 Premium - both are the top-of-the-line versions for Microsoft and Sony, respectively.
Which is the better value in your opinion, and why?

Xbox 360 ELITE = give you the selection of Playing games, WHILE the other PS3 which look bad in person give you the ability to play Blu-Ray movies (assuming that u have a HD-TV)
PS: ANDZ YOUZ CANZZ CUREZZ CANCER WITHZ PS3 lol Â
Well both are expensive but I would still prolly go with the Elite. My reason mainly is the games and the 360 be it the "old school" version or the elite has a great game library and games that I like/interest me. In the end for me thats all that matters.
The HDD I will say though is a plus; I still dont really care for the HDMI or any of the next gen media formats be it HD-DVD or BluRay.
You can't seriously be asking this?lzorroWhy not? I'm sure people have differing opinions about this. If I thought there was a straight answer with a self-evident reason, I wouldn't have asked it.
Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 can do everything the PS3 can, plus some. The only think the Xbox 360 lacks now, is an internal hddvd/blu-ray drive. But that isn't needed because if you want too watch HD movies, you can just download them off of Xbox live. Plus you get Twice the harddrive space, and it's also still cheaper than the cheapest PS3. The Xbox 360 also has arguably the best game line up of this generation. And Xbox live is the superior to Playstation Network. The Xbox 360 'right now' is the better value for the money.swaginator
[QUOTE="ironwarrior2"]This is easy. PS3 by far. 360 doesnt even have a current gen disc drive.Evo310whp
You PS3 boys are soo smart; the 360 does have a current gen disc format. The DVD9/DVD-ROM is the current format.
No, current gen for me is blu-ray. Dvd is last gen tech.
Right now, in my opinion, as a gaming system only: The Xbox 360
As a media hub: The PS3, since it has a cheaper Blu-Ray player that is more affordable than any other player.Â

As soon as either HD disc format takes off, I would agree. Since DVD is slaughtering both, I will disagree.Â

Except a solid library with over 100 games, great developer support, and a solid, proven online network. But for a game system, thats nothing I guess :roll:Â
Now, if you think the Elite is better value, fine, but I'm just sayin that it doesn't seem like people are responding that way.
I may get flamed for this but I'll take a shot. How is the Elite a rip off? For $80 more than a premium you get a 120 gig hard drive and a hdmi port....not a bad deal if you ask me.
The PS3 Premium wins.
The Elite is a ripoff for 360 owners, and in itself, doesn't offer anything that's absolutely necessary. Now if it retailed at $399, that would be a different story........
The PS3 offers more bang for the buck and has the Blu-ray player to boot.

Riight well that is cow thinking for ya I guess. Fact is the DVD9/DVD-ROM is the current and popular media format.
Both are way too expensive but I think the PS3 premium is the better choice.
Elite really should have wifi in it too, I don't understand why MS left it out.Â
This thread is starting to sound as if the TC asked "Which console is better?" It's "which is the better value?" Value being the keyword. Now, if you think the Elite is better value, fine, but I'm just sayin that it doesn't seem like people are responding that way.
Blue-Sphere
Like I said, as a gaming system, you get more games for your dollar (right now) on the 360, so for only a game system, it is the better value.
If you want an HD disc format, then the PS3 is the better value.
Value is more opinion that fact, since it depends on what you value in a system, which varies from person to person.Â

I agree. Then it might just have justified the high price, not to mention made fans a lot happier.
Hard to say. Including wifi would have pushed the price higher. Plus, my personal experience is that wired internet gaming provides for a more lagfree experience than wifi.Only a fanboy would deny that the PS3 is clearly the best value. Now they just need to come with some good exclusives to justify the purchase.JayPee89
Well for 600+ it really doesnt matter how good the value for the PS3 is or that it has a "next gen" media player none of that matters if it has lil to no games that are good or that interest me. The PS3 has pretty much all mediocre to no good games in my opinion; and games is what justifies the buy for me at least so I would still go with the Elite.
