What exactly do you think the Zephyr offers over the original 360 other than HDMI and a bigger Hard Drive? Those are 2 major things. MS knows people are switching to HD. Those additions are essential now.

You seem convinced that this upgrade won't annoy 360 owners. I disagree with that and I think it's a sign of weakness from MS. They moved too fast with the 360 and they know people are quickly making the transition to HD so they have to play catch up now with the Zephyr.

Or they are just scrapping the Core system and giving buyers more options.... Think of this as the PSX of the Xbox360, although it may sell better since it's not too over priced/ridiculous. Yeah... that sounds more realistic.

i have been playing my black 360 with a black controller(which looks exactly like that pic) for about a month now, my gaming tv only has 1 HDMI input which is occupied by my ps3, and the difference in quality between HDMI and component is unnoticeable.

i have no use for a 120gig hard drive, all my music streams off my computer, HD movie downloads aren't available in canada, and i delete demos once i realize they suck or i buy the game, which is usually a week depending on when the game is released.

Profits? Sony is taking around a $200 loss on each console. It's the opposite of profits.

Because they get a HD player with the PS3. If M$ releases this they will most likely kill the $399 model because I seriously doubt they will sell 3 different systems to retailers. If this happens PS3 will start to outsell the 360 easily.

HDMI > VGA in terms of overall quality.

It depends on the tv really. I've been seeing people say that the VGA signal looks better on Samsung LCD HDTV's, which are very popular...

Ah, but you're forgetting about Blu-Ray. They're taking this loss for one reason... so Blu-Ray will win the format war. They stand to make billions and billions of dollars if their plan works. And when you think about it, it may just work. But it's still far to early to make any assumptions about which format will win.

im just going to say that... it WAS always going to have 1080p but right now it DOESNT. i have a 360 and love it, however your lame attempt to bash sony is weak the rumble was in the controller for the ps1 not a crap add-on, and wtf nintendo didnt invint analogue sticks and if they did than ms copied that from nintendo, the duelshock 2 had pressure sensitivity before the xbox did, and im sorry is the 360 the first system to have wireless controllers? oh wait i had those for my pc like 7 yrs ago, and htf is the ps pad a copy of the snes? arnt all D-pads a copy? all i have to say now is that im right, your wrong, shut up and sit back down because your arguement is moot

right now it does have 1080p and has for a couple of months. Ps1 pad was a copy of the snes one with two extra shoulder buttons, then n64 came out and caboom, dual analogue sticks, the n64 release rumble add on and, shock of shocks, dual shock arrives, The xbox 1 had analogue triggers not some lame unused pressure sensative pad buttons which they now include on ps3 pads, then xbox 1 came with HDD built in and sony announce possible ps2 HDD add on but it never arrives. XBL is launched and before your know it sony announce PSN and try to get some games going with it. 360 arrives first with all wireless features announced first and sony as ever follow suit. Then the wii details are unveiled, and bye bye goes the banana and, da da, and motion sensative feature is uniquly invented by sony (sarc). Good job blu ray delayed launch or this may not have come with the ps3 launch. The only thing sony did first was include movie playback and in this sense i would give it to sony that they began the mulimedia integration trend but seriously come on, if you cant concede sony copy things then your in denial. Dont get me wrong, im not bashing sony for doing it, they have no choice if they want to compete and everyone else does the same to some degree, (ms with multimedia conectivity, nintendo dropped cartridges) and the stuff they produce is undeniable good and popular, ill even get a ps3 when march arrives, but you cant seriously discount these points and expect me to just go, er........ok. Duh!

You guys are stupid. I don't have a xbox 360 but I would still get a 20gb version if the price falls because I don't need hdmi or the 120 gb hd. Don't hate because there are more options for xbox 360 than the ps3.
