  2. Halo 2 -- Yes, it was pretty cool online at the time. But now, thanks to its popularity, the biggest companies are pumping their fortunes into games that follow the same protocol as Halo 2: online MP is the focus, the campaign sucks, you can only hold a few weapons, a serious tone, the military elite, and regenerating health. Why is this a bad thing? I like that they're still producing games for a system I got almost ten years ago. I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of the system.

I agree with this. Watch some fanboy say Wii as an answer. But I don't know why nobody said the video game crash right before the NES. I saw overpriced games somewhere as an answer, I agree with that also. $50-$60 is to expensive.

It's not that it's a bad system, quite the opposite, but I've always felt that keeping the last gen console active hurts the sale of the current gen console. I know the Slim is meant to boost sales of the PS3, but I can see how some consumers would chose the PS2, with its low price and great library.

Wait, I think I just cancelled my own argument.

Sony is still making money on the sales of the consoles and games, and with the PS3s not supporting BC anymore, people are going to buy PS2s, and I see that as a good thing, cause it's a great system with tons of great games no matter what genres you're into. I would much prefer this over Sony just dropping support for the PS2 and expecting us to buy PS3s.

I hate the first 2-3 pages that tell you how to start a game, operate your controller or what HP is.

honestly I like ESRB. The only ppl who complain about it are kids but we dont want them online anyway.

Thats my point. Back in PS2 days, manuals used to be helpfull. Explain the game types, and give some really helpful hints. Now, its just basic controls, then an add.

2. System Rivalry("The wii is kiddie stuff, but I can bicker online about how my 300 dollar machine is better than yours"-Most Fanboys)

3. PC gaming scareing the crap out of most people including me.( I will never understand all those specs.)

4. Current Nintendo. They seem to piss me off every gen except when a new Metroid, Zelda, and Mario are released.

There being a "standard" price for all games. If your game isn't worth $60, don't sell it for $60. I don't even mean that for bad games. Look at the 2k sports games, they were $20 for a year and they sold great and were great.

These aren't in any order; I think they all equally suck

1. Paying for DLC like patches, extra costumes/jerseys, horse armor, basically stuff that either would've previously been offered for free or should already be in the game in the first place as an unlockable.

2. Microsoft rushing out a faulty piece of hardware and then not fully taking responsibility for it when they've should've issued a full product recall.

3. Building up the multiplayer experience for a game at the expense of the single-player (ahem, Call of Duty)

4. SHOOTERS, SHOOTERS, SHOOTERS! (also see #3 on this list)

5. The yearly franchise release. I can at least partially understand why this happens for sports games, especially in the pre-online era where the only way to get updated rosters and stats was through a new version. Now with online readily available, I'd love to see 2 year cycles for sports games with full support offered during those cycles (but there's too much money in the 1 year cycles so that'll probably never happen). What I can't understand is the yearly update for every other genre! Why did we need 4-5 Ratchet & Clank games in the span of 4-5 years!?

H games are mostly surrounded by sex (most of the stuff you see on Hongfire), eroges primarily have sex scenes but a lot less and it connects with the plot.

1. The emphasis on Competitive multiplayer especially when it means less dev time for the campaign.

2. The Wii. Sorry, Motion controls may actually be the thing that gets this 31 year old gamer, out of gaming. They suck

3. The acceptance of poor story telling... EVERY and I mean EVERY SINGLE GAME should be offering a narrative and conclusion that warrents a 6o dollar purchase.

4. Expensive consoles... absolutly rediculous. No console should be over 200 in my opinion ever... We are all guilty for this trend. Imagine all the suckers who bought a 600 dollar PS3? just awful.

5. The industry caring more about casuals than hardcore... Sad... we're like a dying breed.

  • Bad DLC/Microtransactions (day one stuff or small overpriced BS.)
  • Online multiplayer focus (thanks for pretty much killing stories in every genre this gen, seeing as singleplayer is the reason I game to begin with, this is a really big negative for me, even though it's a major positive for most.)
  • Consolization of once exclusive PC franchises that have gone multiplat (sharing is fine, until stripped features and interface changes invade the PC version.)
  • Really ridiculous censorship (censoring violence and nudity in The Witcher was absurd when God of War had just as much or more with no issues, and also for bastardizing crucially dramatic scenes from Xenosaga Episodes I-III; one scene in particular didn't even make sense due to censoring of blood.)
  • Motion controls (I wasn't interested in the Wii, I wasn't interested in the Sixaxis, I'm not interested in Natal, and I'm not interested in the Sony Wand. None of them will ever be preferable, and I'd rather just become a PC exclusive gamer from now on if in the future there was no choice. The inevitability of dumbed down gameplay deters me from supporting them in addition to merely not liking movement based gaming to begin with. Thankfully I don't see this becoming the only option for the future.)

Yeah, H games are fine when you feel the need to.. And eroges are good for a storyline and when you need to (reminds me of reading a manga)...

[QUOTE="siLVURcross"]1. Most H-games being in Japanese text only. Yea, that's about it. It's not a horrible thing, but I would like be able to understand what I'm reading too.siLVURcross

Whats an H game?

It's best you don't ask that question.

That isn't the best idea... Especially if you have people over your shoulder.

Im with this guy

Um, Im not... Im all for his reasons in number 3, infact I put it in my own. but please dont call out call of duty games for having a bad campaign, thats rediculous. Say what you want about the bandwagon hate for the MW success and I get it, its cool to hate on the industry standard, but to say that call of duty has a bad campaign is downright irresponsible especially when there are a billion shooters out there that do suck based on the time spent developing mP compared to SP.
