Run games better than consoles you wouldn't need a very expensive comp at all. Cheap dual core, sub-$100 gfx, 2-3gb ram, tiny HDD, add windows, a low budget case, mobo, budget PSU.

You could get it well under $500.

If you can grin and bare it with consoles for a couple more years till the next gen, you will be rewarded.

It would be cheap $300-500 with used parts.... but it would be a waste of money as you would soon want to upgrade, to better ones :P You would still be able to play many games that have come the past few years, but not some of the newer ones at least not on high.

Because PCs have a hard time doing 720p. :P

I paid around £300 for mine, not sure how much that is in $$ but i can pwn the 360 easily :P

costme $370 last august to build this one. i'm sure the price is a lot lower now. pc hardware prices goes down very quickly
