Too bad ps3 has slower loading times than the dvd-9 drive.
Too bad those 50 gbs are used for high-def movies.
Too bad no game out on the ps3 takes advantage of the space.
Too bad no game will EVER take advantage of the space due to high production costs.
Too bad the only games that will ever use the space will be 30 gbs of CGI and 6 gbs of game.
Can the Xbox 360 use HD-DVD for games? No Nteks

[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"]12x DVD speed >>>>>>>> 2x BR speedNteksDVD read speed slows down at the edge or center of the disc. BR speed is constant. BR's speed is constantly POOR then. Devs put the data on DVDs to take advantage of the known speed change. what's your point? mine is that anyone can make a one-dimensional, myopic point that is valid in a vaccum. BD has its advantages. DVD has its advantages. in that, there really is nothing more to discuss.

That's ownage right there. I just call 'em like I see 'em.
there was nothing in the TC's post that suggested the conversation was limited to gaming.[QUOTE="rainman67"][QUOTE="Nteks"]There is nothing to discuss.NteksToo bad ps3 has slower loading times than the dvd-9 drive. there was nothing in the TC's post that suggested the conversation was limited to gaming.Oh, well if it's a tech thread :
200Gb > 51Gb.
I just thought the nature of SW should be leaned towards gaming, but you're right.

it does lean towards gaming, but you and I both know that there are plenty of Tech threads and BR vs. HD-DVD threads that pop up weekly. I'm just saying it's important for a TC to make clear the scope of a conversation, or people will take it in different, unintended directions.[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="SolidTy"]Can the Xbox 360 use HD-DVD for games? The TC should have been more clear initially, to avoid this.
[QUOTE="Nteks"]There is nothing to discuss.-KinGz-Yeah it's better, but we have HUGE games like Mass effect in a dvd9, so whats the point of bluray? because when they release big games like gta4 and 2 days to vegas it will be 5 times a big.

U really think so?, omg... I mean u really think GTA4 will be bigger than an RPG like this?
It just cracks me up on how people are told something is great and they believe it. I am going to relate this to the gaming side. Blu-ray has done nothing to improve the level of gaming. Ask me this quesiton: If the Blu-ray is so great, than why do you need to download gigs to your hard drive for many of the games out there on the PS3? What takes longer to download 2 gigs or swap out a disk? How many games will take advantage of this expensive technology in the next 2-3 years? This tech. is not needed and won't be needed for sometime.Â
so ure dumb.. you dont "Download Gigs".. and BLURAY movies Such as Pirates of the Carribean 1&2 on Bluray are 75Gigs eachIt just cracks me up on how people are told something is great and they believe it.

Download gigs was a poor choice of words...install on hard drive to help speed up loading times. What has Blu-ray done to improve the games you are playing right now that DVD 9 can't do?It just cracks me up on how people are told something is great and they believe it.
